Only did the start of the track and turned around. Well formed track with lots of parking and toilets. Short drive off the road and well signposted.

Great day walk or overnight tramp

Easy 8.6 km track to lovely lake with spacious, new DOC hut. Sandflies at lake, but hut has screens on windows.

Lovely spot for a quick walk when travelling or a day return. Flat country with a good DoC hut at the end so great for families and introducing younger (6+) children to overnite tramping.
