One of the niche roads that I prefer. Especially in the afternoon, I occasionally go to Nanchang Road to walk slowly while enjoying the scenery of the houses on both sides. The sun is very pleasant, the flow of people is not large, and it will not be very noisy. There are also many coffee shops nearby. If you are tired, you can have a cup of coffee and look at Nanchang Road outside the glass.
Nanchang Road is a street in Shanghai that spans Huangpu District and Xuhui District. The road is east-west, from Chongqing South Road to Xiangyang South Road. The length is less than 2 kilometers and the width is more than ten meters. Nanchang Road includes Tao Erfeisi Road (Route Dollfus) and Huanlong Road (Route Vallon). Tao and Feisi Road is a short section between Chongqing South Road and Yandang Road at the eastern end of Nanchang Road. In 1902, the French Concession Bureau was built across the border. The original name was Officer Road (Rue des Officies), and in 1920, French Officer Tao and Feisi was renamed Tao and Feisi Road. Huanlong Road is the majority of Nanchang Road west of Yandang Road. In 1912, the French Concession Bureau was built across the border, named after the French pilot. In 1914, Tao's Feisi Road and Huanlong Road were all included in the Shanghai French Concession. In 1943, Wang Jingwei regime received the Shanghai French Concession, and renamed the two roads to Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, and renamed Nanchang Road. Now this road is half fireworks, half literary and artistic, and in the evening, the sun is shining, the light is mottled, and the pictures of quiet and beautiful times are pictures.
cannot miss this area of Shanghai. living here since years and still love it
I don't remember how long I didn't go to Nanchang Road, which is a small road that is not spacious and has a total length of less than two kilometers. 47 Nanchang Road is now the Science Hall. The building was originally built as the site of the Shanghai French General Association. It was completed in 1917 and later converted into a French school, mainly accepting children of foreign nationals mainly from French diaspora, so it is also known as the French Children's School (Figure 1 ~ Figure 2). The road along this road is traditionally a residential area, and many celebrities have lived here, such as No. 11, Lane 136, is Xu Zhimo's old residence (Figure 3~ Figure 4), No. 53, Lin Fengmian's old residence (Figure 5~ 7), and No. 25, Lane 110, Shanghai Villa, is Jiang Qing's old residence (Figure 8~ 9). There are many old enterprises that have been open for decades on this road, such as the clean and Jingchuan restaurant founded in 1927 (picture 10), the milk shed that has been founded for decades (picture 11), the old Dachang (picture 12), and the surrounding residents are familiar with the retro style of "old wheat barber shop" (Figure 13).
