A great, and free place to explore in Bury. We traveled with young kids and enjoyed exploring the ruins and the gardens, and the playground!
Ruined Abbey
Amongst the richest abbeys in England during its heydays, this once mighty abbey has largely fallen into ruin since the dissolution of the monasteries in the 16th century. Two magnificent towers still...
The old abbey ruins ...
.. are pretty extensive and very photogenic. They are not fenced off so you can touch them and walk on them (if you dare).

The grounds of the Abbey are very peaceful definitely a place to relax in yet only a few minutes walk from the Town
