El alojamiento es muy tranquilo, con amplio espacio en una casa unifamiliar de dos plantas, lo que permite comprar los ingredientes para sukiyaki y barbacoa. Hay un supermercado local a solo un minuto, que ofrece carne y fruta frescas y asequibles. A 10 minutos a pie hay tres supermercados y un 7-Eleven. Una tienda de gyozas con cola constante está a solo cinco minutos a pie de la esquina. Junto al hotel se encuentra la pagoda de cinco plantas del Templo Toji, un Tesoro Nacional. La busqué en internet y tiene más de 1200 años, construida tras el regreso de los enviados japoneses a la dinastía Tang. El templo es grande y tranquilo, completamente diferente de los templos de China. Es magnífico y se siente como un viaje de ensueño a la dinastía Tang. Los autobuses pasan justo enfrente del hotel, lo que facilita la conexión con la estación de Kioto y otras atracciones. Me encantó tomar el autobús para ver la ciudad. Al vivir en un barrio japonés, puedes conocer de primera mano la vida japonesa, desde niños que llevan sus mochilas al colegio por la mañana hasta personas mayores que compran verduras con descuento en el supermercado por la noche, algo que no encontrarás en un hotel en una zona turística. En resumen, es un lugar ideal para un viaje en familia.

What a beautiful place! Kiraku Kyoto Honmachi is a house which has been refurbished with subtle taste and delightful creativity. There’s definitely magic to it! I loved walking on the pebbles in the downstairs bedroom - so soothing for sore feet. There’s also a smooth walkway to the bed if pebbles aren’t your thing. Upstairs there’s a tokonoma with scroll, as well as a full set of equipment for carrying out a tea ceremony, including of course, matcha. The host even had delicious matcha “financiers” waiting for us upon arrival. The outdoor bath is brilliant. It’s quite easy to fill and I’d highly recommend having an outdoor soak every night. Seeing as some in our group weren’t up for tourism in the city, it was doubly worthwhile to have stayed in such a house where they could breathe in Kyoto atmosphere without ever moving from the tatami!

Rinn Shiki Juraku is such a lovely property. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. The Townhouse 5 is so spacious, with a comfortable bed. We were very pleased that the TV supported Netflix for watching a series after a busy day exploring. The bathtub is huge and takes over an hour to fill. You must check on the water temperature halfway through because the hot water runs out and the tub will fill with ice-cold water. The air conditioners are also a bit noisy. The reception area offers earplugs if you are sensitive to noise while sleeping. The location is good for walking to Nijo Castle, which is a recommended tourist attraction (and worth it). Other areas such as Fushimi Inari or Gion, it is recommended to use Uber or the metro. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Highly recommended for getting authentic and unique experience of staying at the Japanese house. Great location, near to Shoji Dori, a huge shopping street, a short bus ride to Gion and metro station allowing to get to all historical attractions. The home is really nice, with all necessary amenities, clean and roomy. Want to specifically mention its interior decorations, really awesome. Tourist tip: print out your reservation with the home’s address in Japanese to avoid any difficulties with finding your way to the location, you show it to the taxi drivers and they will find the place. Located approximately 5 minutes from the kyoto station. It has 4 floor which the top floor being a bathrooms and a bed. There are no cleaning service but have to pay extra if wanted. There are 3 bedrooms with 6 single bed and a queen size bed up to 8 people. The bedrooms is pretty clean and the beds are very comfortable. There amenities include fridge, microwave, silverware, plates, bowls, and chopsticks. Washing machine is on the top floor. Overall it is a very good stay, recommend.

El hotel está situado en un barrio muy tranquilo y las instalaciones son muy buenas. La única inconveniente es que no hay servicio de limpieza para mi estancia de tres noches, haciendo que los basureros un poco confuso! Pero en general, es una gran experiencia para quedarse en esta hermosa casa japonesa, con toda la conveniencia moderna como el calentamiento de pisos, para unas vacaciones en Kyodo.

We enjoyed our stay at this accommodation in Kyoto. Although the check-in counter is located separately from the property itself, it is easily accessible from Kyoto Station, and the hotel provides complimentary taxi transfer service from the check-in counter to the accommodation. The only drawback was that the entire property has just one bathroom, though it does come with two toilets.

¡Muy recomendable! Una experiencia familiar muy satisfactoria. Estoy muy agradecido con mi amigo por recomendarme este Kyoto Machiya. La casa de dos pisos tiene capacidad para cuatro de nosotros, así como baños al aire libre. Aunque solo me quedé una noche, ¡definitivamente me quedaré de nuevo la próxima vez que regrese a Kioto!

Parking frontal. Hay un horrible carro colocado y reversing su vehículo podría montar el carro (no estoy seguro de por qué estaba mal colocado allí). La alojamiento es hermosa, moderna redefinida de una casa japonesa. La cama era maravillosa. El WC situado en L1 y L2 es un plus para nosotros.

The location was right by Kyoto station, so was just a short walk to the property. Clean and roomy for family. Just that the blinds were a little short, so wasn’t able to sleep in too much due to the outside brightness.
