Overall, this was a very mixed experience. There were so many things I genuinely loved about this place, but unfortunately one major issue completely changed our stay. The hotel is a family-run property in the middle of the grasslands, and from the moment we arrived we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The owners were incredibly kind, making us feel at home right away. My son even spent time playing with the owner's child, sharing toys and feeding the goats on their small farm. It was a lovely, authentic experience that made our stay feel very personal. The accommodation itself is made up of traditional yurt-style tents, which are charming and full of character. Our tent had a comfortable double bed for my wife and me, plus a single bed for our son. The bed was comfortable, the view was beautiful, and one feature we especially enjoyed was the skylight in the roof. It can be opened and closed with a remote control, allowing you to look up at the stars at night, which creates a truly magical atmosphere. The tent was also equipped with air conditioning and heating, making it comfortable in different weather conditions. The bathroom was relatively new, although it had a few minor plumbing issues, but nothing that significantly affected our stay. The owners also recommended a nearby horse ranch just next to the hotel, where we enjoyed a wonderful horseback riding experience. Since we went in the evening after the busiest hours, we paid only 80 RMB for two horses for our family of three for a 30-minute ride, accompanied by friendly local guides. It was a fantastic experience and one of the highlights of our trip. Another outstanding feature is the restaurant next to the hotel. The food was simply exceptional. We had grilled goat ribs that were honestly the best I've ever eaten. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly cooked. The service was fast, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it was a wonderful place to enjoy dinner with my family after a day exploring the grasslands. Unfortunately, the biggest issue with this hotel has nothing to do with the hotel itself—it is the evening entertainment throughout the surrounding area. Every night there are outdoor shows with bonfires, performances, and group activities, which are enjoyable and create a lively atmosphere. Fireworks and other entertainment are also fun for families and children. However, once the shows end, the music becomes unbearably loud. It is so loud that many guests were covering their ears, and even children were uncomfortable standing nearby. The hotel's own entertainment ended around 10:00 p.m., which would have been acceptable. The real problem was that several neighboring hotels continued blasting extremely loud music until around 11:00 p.m. or later. Because these beautiful yurt tents provide very little sound insulation, the noise travels directly inside the rooms. At one point I had to call Ctrip customer service, and the music outside was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other while I was inside the tent. I actually had to move into the bathroom just to have a conversation. After driving more than 500 kilometers that day, we had chosen this destination to relax, enjoy nature, and experience the peace and quiet of the grasslands. Instead, it felt like being next to an outdoor nightclub. We had originally planned to stay for two nights, possibly even three, but after the first night we decided to cancel the remaining night and move to a hotel closer to the city simply so we could get some proper rest. It was disappointing because everything else about this place had exceeded our expectations. I don't believe this is entirely the responsibility of this hotel's owners. They were wonderful hosts, and everything they personally managed was excellent. However, I do think there needs to be better coordination among all the nearby hotels. Al principio dudaba si quedarme aquí o no, pero ahora que lo pienso, ¡resultó ser una de las mejores decisiones de mi viaje! Tras planificar cuidadosamente el viaje, llegar fue bastante sencillo. Para quienes vengan de Hohhot, esta es la ruta que seguí: 1. Tomar un tren desde Hohhot hasta la estación de Dalate Oeste. 2. Tomar un Didi desde la estación de Dalate Oeste hasta la recepción del Huailian Tourism Resort (unos 40 minutos, aproximadamente 50 CNY). 3. Comprar el paquete Whistling Dune Bay por 176 RM, que incluye la entrada, el teleférico, el acceso a la isla Yuesha y un paseo en camello. 4. Los huéspedes del resort tienen acceso a un carril especial para el teleférico, que tarda unos 8 minutos. 5. Al llegar, tomar el jeep del resort hasta la zona de alojamiento. 6. La experiencia nocturna fue realmente espectacular. This is exactly what a Grassland stay should be, and more! Our time at Xilamuren Grassland Tourism Resort will forever be etched in my heart. From the moment we arrived, the owner welcomed us like family, going above and beyond to recommend attractions, arrange tickets, and even personally drive us to the sites. Where else do you find service like that—done with a constant smile and thoughtful touches like free bottled water to keep us refreshed? Staying in a traditional yurt on the open grassland is an experience beyond words. There is something grounding, peaceful, and almost spiritual about waking up to endless green horizons instead of concrete grey, hearing the soft rustle of the prairie wind, and watching the morning light sweep across the landscape. This isn’t just accommodation...it’s an authentic encounter with the beauty of Inner Mongolia. Anyone visiting the region simply must experience this once in a lifetime.

It was a truly wonderful experience. The place is beautiful, with clean and comfortable panoramic yurts decorated with great taste and attention to detail. The beds were very comfortable, and the bed linen was of high quality. Hot water and air conditioning worked perfectly throughout our stay. The staff speak English and were incredibly friendly and helpful. They assisted us in planning a one-day program, during which we enjoyed an exciting theatrical performance. The kids especially loved the horse riding and cart rides. There is also a restaurant on the territory, which is very convenient when traveling with children. Highly recommended place!

Having been to many countries, I considered myself a seasoned traveler. This is the most outstanding and luxurious accommodation that I have ever been to and I cannot recommend it enough.  A bright and airy, and sparkling clean place in the midst of Wulanmaodu grasslands. The scenery is so serene and peaceful.  Each room is full of personal and thoughtful touches. Even the tissue container was so cute and made from tweed sourced from Scotland. The restaurant and common area was tastefully decorated and great for photography.  Next, the people who work there are thoughtful, kind and generous. Xiao Yan and Xiao Kong really brought things to the next level with service. We got to the hotel late at around 9:30 pm. The entire staff was waiting for us at the door and helped us with bags. There was even a warm, sweet soup to welcome us in the hotel room. I couldn’t figure out how to turn off an alarm that I accidentally activated in the middle of the night. The staff showed up immediately after I called to turn it off. They provided excellent recommendations for local sights and services. Their service is definitely 10/10. The free breakfast served at the restaurant is better than any 5 star hotel. Healthy, thoughtfully crafted food, but also true to Inner Mongolian roots. We looked forward to eating there every day.  Also very family friendly establishment. My 5 year old daughter asked if we could move there permanently.  I did not want to leave. Do yourself a favor and book this hotel. You will not be sorry. Look forward to trip of a lifetime. It’s what heaven looks like.

We stayed here to enjoy the unobstructed view of the volcano and to experience the space-themed rooms. Visiting during the low season at the end of March, we didn't expect to be the only guests, but despite that, we received exceptional treatment. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was beautifully prepared, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating. The night views were absolutely spectacular and truly made our trip memorable. Although the location is about 1.5 hours from town, we were glad we chose this place for its unique charm and stunning scenery. We would wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travelers visiting the area. Additionally, there's a large spa / hot springs just a few meters away to relax and make the stay extra special! Again, would highly recommend.

La habitación tenía un olor desagradable a humedad y el suelo no estaba completamente limpio. No había toallas para todos. El servicio funciona y se realiza a través de WeChat. Por lo demás, las vistas son estupendas, es tranquilo y pudimos hacer nuestra excursión a Grasslabs gracias a este hotel.

I chose this yurt because I wanted to try something a little different, and I never expected such a warm welcome. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel at home, and it was clear that they genuinely wanted me to have a great stay. Even though we didn't speak the same language, it was never a problem with the help of a few translation apps and plenty of smiles, we were able to communicate and share some wonderful moments. I was even invited to enjoy a homemade traditional meal with the family, a simple yet heartfelt experience that will remain one of my favorite travel memories. The yurt itself is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Spending the night in such a unique setting was an unforgettable experience. In the morning, I was treated to a delicious homemade breakfast, another thoughtful touch that made my stay even more enjoyable. I even had the chance to try on a traditional outfit, take some photos, and enjoy a fun karaoke session during my stay. If you're looking for a genuine local experience rather than a standard hotel stay, I highly recommend this place. It offers a rare opportunity to experience true hospitality, and it's a memory I'll cherish for a long time. I couldn't be happier with my stay. If I have the chance to visit China again, I will definitely come back here without a second thought.
