The staff were pleasant and very friendly. The room was a no frills type room. While it had a really nice bathroom. And the bedroom had a mini fridge and a microwave. It didn't have a dresser. It did have a tv with cable.I ordered a room with a king size bed, and got a room with one queen size bed. And a headboard left on the wall where the second queen had once been. It gave the room a spacious feeling. Despite being the wrong size bed, I didn't complain. I'm not more than. 6' like some people that need a king size bed. Anf at the end of the day, it's just a place to sleep and get a shower. It was a comfortable sleep. And despite being on the corner wasn't as quiet as I had hoped. But it's a motel. Non-smoking rooms available. There is a pool. I didn't check it out though I was too tired my first day, and too busy the next. If you don't require much, this might be for you. The price is right and the location is prime.

Había reservado un lugar de estacionamiento, pero cuando fui a estacionar, el personal me dijo que tenía que pagar primero. Cuando fui a la recepción, me dijeron que podía pagar después. Así que regresé al estacionamiento y les dije al personal, pero me dijeron que no, que tenía que pagar primero. Volví a la recepción y les dije, y me dijeron que no había problema, que podía pagar después. No conseguía nada, así que le pedí a un empleado de recepción que me acompañara al estacionamiento. Good for the money. We’ll stay again this place within our budget, basic and simple

I recently stayed at this wonderful hotel in San Diego and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with their genuine hospitality and attention to detail. Check-in was quick and effortless, and I immediately felt at ease. The room was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable bedding and a relaxing atmosphere. I especially loved the little touches—plenty of charging ports, great water pressure in the shower, and a balcony with a beautiful view of the city and ocean. The location is perfect—close to San Diego’s best attractions, including the waterfront, Gaslamp Quarter, and Balboa Park. Whether I wanted to walk around, take a short drive, or simply relax by the pool, everything was easily accessible. The hotel amenities exceeded expectations. The pool area was a highlight, perfect for enjoying the sunshine, while the fitness center was well-equipped and clean. The on-site restaurant offered delicious meals with fresh, local ingredients, and the breakfast buffet had something for everyone. What really made my stay special, however, was the service. Every staff member I interacted with went above and beyond—whether it was offering recommendations, arranging transportation, or just greeting me with a smile. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Diego, whether for business, a family vacation, or a relaxing getaway. I’m already looking forward to staying here again!

The building is average looking with friendly manager. I had apartment 201 which was an upstairs unit. The white bedspread had stains on it, that looked like fecal stains from someone sitting on the white spread. The sheets were fine. The carpeting looked like it had not been shampooed in years. The sleeping area has two ceiling lights that were not working. Not so sure that the TV remote was working, but was able to work the TV using the on and off buttons. There were no light switches near the bed so I had to get out of bed to turn on and off the ceiling lights. The baseboards were very dirty and dusty. Spots on the walls. The headboard needed to be dusted. The bathroom had decent water pressure and sufficient hot water. The walls near the toilet and sink counter were full of spots. Spider webs on the side of the toilet walls. Ceiling exhaust fan was not working, and one light in the bathroom was out. Towels were clean but put on he racks not completely dry. In general I would say that the cleaning staff probably touches the obvious areas but does not pay attention to details. Even the lightswitch covers had a layer of dust on the top of the cover. I have pictures, but not going to spend anymore time on this review. Just want to warn future customers looking at this location.

El aparcamiento es cómodo y gratuito. El hotel cuenta con un servicio de transporte a Disneyland, lo cual es muy práctico. Está a 5 minutos en coche y jugamos hasta que Disneyland cerró. ¡Fue divertidísimo! El desayuno era sencillo y la habitación muy tranquila.

We had a lovely stay at The Beachcomber Motel this past Friday. As expected, rates were a little higher due to the weekend demand, but the experience made it worthwhile. We stayed on the first floor, and one of the best things about this property is that all rooms face the ocean—such a treat! Our room was spacious and very comfortable for four of us, with two queen beds. Being able to enjoy the sunset right from our room was definitely a highlight. The location is also excellent, just a short distance from Glass Beach, making it very convenient for sightseeing. One small downside is that there’s no air conditioning. Since the walkway outside is a public space, we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the door open overnight for ventilation. However, the staff were very helpful and promptly provided a box fan, which made things much more comfortable. There are BBQ pits available on the property (first come, first served), which is a nice bonus if you enjoy outdoor meals. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend The Beachcomber Motel for its ocean views, convenient location, and welcoming service.

Esta es mi experiencia en el Union Hotel. Lo que ves es lo que obtienes. Si no eres muy exigente para una estancia corta (2-3 noches), podrías alojarte aquí, que es más económico y práctico para un viajero. Sin embargo, solo hay dos baños y una ducha por planta, con entre 12 y 15 habitaciones individuales o dobles que comparten estas comodidades. Es un hotel encantador de 4 plantas y no tiene ascensor. Así que ten cuidado si llevas equipaje pesado, ya que te resultará pesado. No hay recepción como en un hotel típico; tienes que entrar por una puerta cerrada (con timbre) y el dueño te recibirá en el callejón que se aproxima en la segunda planta. Sin embargo, hay un pequeño baño dentro de la habitación. No hay aire acondicionado ni calefacción. Tampoco ventilador. La ubicación está muy cerca de la estación Bart de la calle 16, pero debe tener cuidado durante la noche, ya que esta área está en el distrito de la Misión y tal vez haya personas ”no tan normales” en la esquina haciendo muchas cosas (no puedo confirmar si lo están haciendo mal, ya que no me acerqué a ellos), también hay muchos habitantes de la calle en el vecindario, solo tenga cuidado con sus pertenencias cuando se suba a la calle.
