La selección de hotel para este viaje familiar a Japón se basó en criterios de transporte conveniente y viaje económico, por lo que elegí ASO Base, un hotel para mochileros en Aso porque tiene una habitación con cama grande, excepto para bañarse en el área pública. , todo lo demás es básico y normal. Los hoteles no son muy diferentes. Además, los hoteles para mochileros son más convenientes. Tienen cocinas, etc. Puedes comprarlos en el supermercado agrícola al lado de la estación Aso y luego regresar para hacer tu propio sukiyaki. Los ingredientes son excelentes y muy convenientes. El ambiente general es muy cálido, las instalaciones son completas y la higiene es muy buena. Aso es una estación importante en la prefectura de Kumamoto. Si desea tener una transición sencilla por una noche, le recomiendo este hotel.

Good location with shopping arcade right next to it! Lots of good shops like Mister Donut, Gindaco. Walking distance to most attractions like Kumamoto Castle and famous ramen. Great variety of self-pick up amenities (toothbrush, cleanser, body sponge, comb, tea, coffee etc.) and special request amenities like hair curler, latex pillow, power bank, shoe dryer and many more! Easy digital self-check-in with staff assistance. Good breakfast variety and clean environment. Luggage storage with front desk is also easy! Parking guidance brochure available. Free cheese grain snack upon check-in. Highly recommend for anyone to stay here!

El hotel está situado cerca de la calle comercial y del centro comercial Kumamoto Castle, lo que lo hace muy conveniente para ir de compras. El spa Sky está en el último piso, con instalaciones interiores y exteriores. Las instalaciones son nuevas y limpias. El hotel cuenta con un estacionamiento tridimensional, que es conveniente para estacionar, pero es posible que no pueda estacionar vehículos grandes.

I honestly do not know where to start, I booked the hotel without really knowing much about Kumamoto Prefecture. After arriving in Kumamoto City and then realising Ueki Onsen is another 40 minute bus ride I was thinking oh dear where am I staying. After arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the manager of the hotel who showed me to my room and gave me a tour of the facilities. Once settled in I realised there isn't great public transport around and I primarily wanted to see Beppu and Yufuin during my stay, I enquired with the manager on where I might be able to rent a car, with little to no Japanese language under my belt he took it upon himself to reserve a vehicle for me and offered to drive me himself to collect it. He then also said he would take me back to return it a few days later. After my trips to Beppu and Yufui village (Not to be missed) and not to miss the outstanding and beautiful surroundings in Uekimachi and the Aso region. The manager and I set off to return my hire car, on the way back he took me to Kikuchi shrine to pray and also gifted me coffee and cake. They also accommodated me with use of the on site onsen (amazing) after hours as I'm heavily tattooed. I feel truly grateful to have found this hidden gem of rural Japan and if you are thinking of traveling this great country I emplore you to go off the beaten path. I experienced untold kindness during my stay and have memories of a life time. Thank you so much guys

Has a great stay and will be back. The hotel is conveniently situated on top of the shopping mall and next to train station. Parking is just in b1 and the hotel will give you discount when parking in b1 which cost only 1.000 yen for overnight parking. The room is nice and super comfy to stay. The staffs are all so attentive and friendly.

Ryokan Yumotoso is in a perfect location in the quaint town of Kurokawa. There are about 12 rooms only, hence its quite a quiet and small establishment. Service staff are all great, and the room view is fantastic looking over the beautiful river. The open onsen also overlooks nature, and private onsens are rustic. As per Ryokans, breakfasts and dinners are included, and so far, we have never been disappointed with food in Ryokans, including Yumotoso. Do note that parking lots are limited, and the lane leading to Yumotoso is rather narrow. Would recommend Yumotoso for its great location, fantastic room view and rustic environment.

I stayed at this hotel twice. The second time (this booking) we had a room on the older (?) wing and it was almost twice the size of the first one. So for this review I will only share feedback on this “older” room. This room was big and thus good for us as we had 2 large luggage and more space in the room allowed us to open and pack our luggages with ease. The bathroom was large with the large traditional bathtub. Toilet had bidet and etc but lacked heating which made it very cold in the winter. Basin tap was still the old turn types which was not eco friendly as it’s more difficult to shut it off. Location was just opposite the train station which was excellent. But the nearest convenience store is also only at the train station which is about a 5-7mins walk away. Breakfast was curated to suit the Japanese palette more and ends at 9a.m which is really way too early!! We left something behind in the hotel but they managed to send the item back to us at our new hotel (still in Japan) which was highly appreciated. Despite a few minor shortcomings listed above, the pros still outweigh the cons and I’ll definitely be happy to stay here again.
