Hotel Flora

Absolutely outstanding service. It is so rare to find such genuine and kind people. They do not work at this hotel just for work, they work because they have passion for good hospitality! The room was so nice, and the cleaning was spotless. The location could not have been any better. Right in the middle of everything! I will not be staying anywhere else when I come back to Venice.

Older hotel (Venice after all) with a fabulous staff. The desk clerk was extremely nice and helpful, recommending restaurants and best way back to the airport. The evening bartender was friendly and outgoing. Breakfast was very good (yogurt, granola, fruit, juice, pastries, coffee). Located right near St Mark's Basilica.

Outstanding care and service from the Romanelli Family and Hotel Flora team! They could not have been kinder or more helpful and made our short stay in Venice very memorable. Fantastic location just behind San Marco, so it was easy to explore the City on foot and a wonderful place to come back to after busy days of sightseeing and walking. We had a lovely room with very comfortable beds and loved the traditional feel of the hotel with beautiful antiques and Murano glass chandeliers. Cannot recommend highly enough and we will be back!

My daugter and I had a great experience at the Hotel Flora. Lovely boutique hotel, close to everything we wanted. The Hotel was beautiful, lovely courtyard and the staff was wonderful and very accommodating.

The hotel promised air conditioning but it was not available in early May. So we opened the windows to cool our room from 76 degrees and because it was raining, all was quiet the first night. The next two days the courtyard over which our third floor windows faced. had loud music which they reluctantly turned down for us the first time and without question the second. Love d voices awakened us i the middle of the night on the last night. It also brought a hord of mosquitoes with all the bights to give us a lasting impression. Our room was the smallest room we have ever been in in more than 57 years of traveling as a married couple and very plain with no decor. The bathroom was also small with a barely usable shower. Service is friendly and the location is lovely. if you don’t want to stay in a tiny hotbox, don’t stay in #27.

This is an excellent place to stay in Venice. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was terrific, and the staff could not have been kinder and more helpful. Great location-near vaporetto stop, St. Mark’s Square and much of Venice. We highly recommend Hotel Flora and would stay there again! Vickie and Paul, Boston

Friendliest and most helpful staff of any hotel I’ve stayed at in Venice ( as a frequent visitor in the Winter months , for 20 years) or for that matter ..anywhere. I can’t stress that enough. The place is tucked away in a central location and some of the rooms are quite quirky and compact. The small and beautiful courtyard garden provides an oasis of calm in a city that can be crazily overcrowded for a large proportion of the year. In winter it perhaps wouldn’t be such an attraction but then you might not need it so much if there weren’t such huge crowds , being wintertime. I’ve read a lot of the reviews and the glowing reports ring true but I can also sympathise with some of the more negative impressions here. Nowhere is perfect . Venice has a lot of very expensive high end hotels and a lot of awful low end hotels. This place is a real find as a quality , stylish boutique hotel and great value. I intend to stay there again .

Pros: ~ staff were amazing and were so helpful and welcoming. ~ very quiet ~ relatively central to most things, max I walked was 20 mins ~ felt extremely safe ~ breakfasts was simple (continental), but great. ~ beautiful courtyard/secret garden Cons: ~ i paid extra for a Superior room and was disappointed that my bed was just two singles pushed together -WHY do hotels do this?! Can understand for certain room types, but not for more expensive ones. Because of this I didn’t sleep great and was uncomfortable. ~ my room didn’t smell too good, an old musky smell, I didn’t complain as arrived late night one and was only staring for two nights. ~ air conditioning in my room was in a really odd position where it was around the corner, so I didn’t feel like it was really working at all and didn’t feel it in the bed. ~ bathroom was really small and the shower is places in an odd position in the bath tub (the side) so it floods the floor if not careful ~ my room wasn’t cleaned, I had to go down to reception and remind them to clean. Apparently they didn’t clean it as I didn’t leave my room key, wasn’t told I had to do this. ~ only provided one large towel for my stage, appreciate I came solo, however I’m paying the same money for a second person ~ not the hotels fault but wasps in the courtyard made breakfast uncomfortable .
