The owner was very helpful. He was eager for me to sign up with a Safari tour that he organized and said that I could check out later which I appreciated. The tour was a little disappointing though as the breakfast he mentioned was not what I received. I was.however happy that he prepared some food when I arrived as I said that I wouldn't be able to eat the hotel breakfast that I paid for. The sheets had marks on them and I saw big cockroaches. There was no air-conditioning so the room was a bit stuffy.

The owner Madu is incredible! He organised everything from transport with KJ Travels and tours and Jaya was our driver. Also the safari was amazing. The Art Yala Boutique resort is beautifully designed and in a great location close the the temples. I would highly recommend this establishment anytime !

Hidden away in the jungle, the hotel is beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in the king suite with our own pool and spa and it was the perfect spot to wind down after an active week of climbing, walking and safaris. We happened to be the only guests on our night stay and everyone made it a lovely experience with taking us for a walk around the lake to see the local wildlife and cooking a bbq right outside our room. Will definitely stay here again should I find myself back in Sri Lanka.

Great place in a very good location. Staff were very kind and helpful even when I made a mistake with the booking (my fault) so because of this I really recommend this place. It’s simple so don’t expect luxury but it is good value.

only 5 mins far from the main street by car, the resort is small but lovely. the room is big and clean. you can book jeep to Yala National Park for Safari tour (about 4 hour tour, recommended to go from 2pm-6pm), and the jeep will pick up you at the resort.

A wonderful family run establishment. I was very ill during my stay and the owner took me to his doctor friend and pharmacy and took care of me. The room is comfortable and it has a nice sitting balcony. Its very very quiet and easy to sleep. Its 10 mins by tuk tuk to tissa lake and the safari is not far. They offer safari services although I didn't use. Wifi available. Lots of plugs in the room. Breakfast is flexible and accommodating. The family is so kind and warm. Highly recommend staying here.

Para mí la ubicación era buena, porque era tranquila. Tal vez no se adecue a otros, ya que es un poco lejos de las instalaciones, pero no es un problema si tienes un conductor. En el momento de la estancia no había Wi-Fi, como aparentemente un árbol cayendo, había traído abajo los hilos. La habitación es muy confortable, muy buena presión de agua con ducha caliente y buena calidad de lana. Excelente tamaño y alojamiento bien diseñado. No se puede acomodar a aquellos que tienen problemas de subir las escaleras. Un agradable alojamiento familiar y se quedaría de nuevo.

El servicio sigue siendo bueno. Pero el hardware es demasiado malo, el agua caliente no es directamente. La puerta está cerrada y hay un ladrón en la casa. Aquí está principalmente cerca del lago para ver cómodo el pájaro, ahora está cambiando de hotel, no está lejos, alrededor de dos kilómetros, el precio es barato a la mitad de la vista.

We stayed here before a trip to Yala national park. The hotel property is quaint and charming. We took pictures of monkeys and peacocks near the hotel’s river bank and trees. Our room was basic, but clean and comfortable. The shower had hot water, but barely any pressure available. Internet was inconsistent and did not work for the first few hours.  The staff were friendly and did their best to communicate with us and meet our needs. They helped us arrange private transportation to and from the international airport and local safaris with third-parties.  We had two meals cooked by our hostess. Our first meal there was excellent with many fresh, local dishes. However, the second meal was simply rice and overcooked chicken, which we struggled to finish. That meal was double the first meal’s price. Also, meal prices were not disclosed until checkout, when we were surprised with a disproportionately large bill, charging us equally for our two meals as our two-night stay in the room. Our fault for not asking first, I suppose, but I felt taken advantage of and it soured our experience.
