During our three-day stay at The St Ives Bay Hotel, we had a memorable and relaxing experience as a couple. Our beach-view room was an absolute delight, offering stunning vistas of the ocean right from our window. The gentle sounds of the waves crashing on the shore were incredibly soothing, making every morning and evening special. The room itself was spacious, providing more than enough room to unwind and truly feel at ease. We appreciated the hotel’s accessibility, with both bus and train services conveniently close by, making it easy for us to explore the charming town of St Ives and its beautiful surroundings. This convenience added an extra layer of ease to our holiday. On top of everything, the hotel’s rates were budget-friendly, offering excellent value for such a great location and amenities. For couples seeking a comfortable and scenic getaway, The St Ives Bay Hotel is a wonderful option that doesn’t break the bank. We’d love to return!

The location was superb, with easy access to Porthminster Beach and the train station right across from the hotel. There is also a paid parking space available. It’s a 15-minute walk to shops and restaurants, which is convenient. As for the hotel itself, you get what you pay for. The service could use some improvement. Our room wasn’t cleaned daily, and when we arrived, the electric fan, table, and small purple cushion were dusty and dirty. Additionally, our left luggage was stored in the emergency exit area for safekeeping. The staff was okay, but there's room for improvement.

Disappointed with the service provided by the receptionist. There are quite a few staircases where luggage is not a good choice to stay there. Where you will need to carry your luggage up and down. Requested carpark lot but no reply from the hotel. Saw the carpark behind the building that was dedicated to the hotel, but the reception did not mention it. Conclusion; Cleanliness - good Location - good Reception - very bad

The most amazing view from this room. Really great location, within easy walking distance to the centre of St Ives. You get what you pay for with this hotel, although the view is definitely a bonus.

Friendly staff, good sized communal areas and nice view. Single bedroom carpet however quite stained and walls and windows thin so fairly noisy

Great hotel for the price. Decent location- close to the station but a bit far from amenities considering the hilly walk. Clean rooms and big bathrooms. Most hotels in the UK are not properly ventilated so must give them props for breezy rooms.

Very poor service. Cleaning staffs are too adamant and not polite at all. Bathroom is not cleaned properly. Bathroom was stinging.

St Ives Bay is a large hotel which fronts onto Porthminister Beach and the terrace, the rooms are basic but clean and tidy albeit with a slightly dated decor. On my visit, the lift was out of order which made a room on the third floor a bit of a hike (but it's probably better for my health to get the steps in!) The hotel is perfectly positioned if you are using St Ives train station and is only a short stroll from the centre of town. The facilities at the hotel include reception, a bar and a large dining area, there is a car park to the rear (watch out for the birds resting in the rafters and pooping on the cars!) The hotel offers a buffet-style breakfast which includes both continental and full English options. Overall the hotel is good - it looks a bit out of date, saggy and worn but the service provided is good and the views around are fab.

I think this place get a bad rep beyond what it deserves. It was £116 for a sea view room in the summer in St Ives! The 2nd cheapest hotel in the area that night was £238. Is it budget? Yes! But was it value for money? YES!! Perfect location , friendly staff. Asked where I could buy bottled water, no issues in fetching me one free of charge from the fridge. Don’t book if you want the Ritz, but if you want affordable value for money hotel, in a cracking location, then book this place.

Hotel location is perfect. Overseeing the one beach and a short walk to restaurants and shops. However the rest of our stay was very grim. The bed was broken for 3 out of 4 nights despite us reporting this on numerous occasions, apparently it was my responsibility to chase up why it had not been fixed. There were questionable marks in the bathroom on the walls. Grease marks over the walls in the main room, human hair that was not ours all over the floor and a horrific toe nail! All addressed with management but bed fixed for the last night so me and my partner had to sleep in the hole where the divan was broken and no apology for anything. The general area needs new carpets and updating and they really need to stop spraying the air freshener that can only remind you of a care home. Trying to leave we were blocked in by another car meaning we had to get the hotel to track down the owner, luckily they were in the hotel as else we would have been stuck all day. Wouldn't expect £100 a night to be this awful and will never stay there again.
