The lady owner watched over us the whole time. For some reason that is unclear to me, she falsely presented herself as a guest and pursued to report us to her staff about every little thing we did. A very unpleasant woman, a very unpleasant experience and an agonizing stay in the apartment, in which we actually spent very little time, considering that we were on a business trip.

We had a great 4 night stay here during our weeks holiday to Croatia. The accommodation is in a good location; it’s a quiet residential area however still in easy reach of the centre of Split. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the main promenade/old town in Split and about a 5 minute walk to Bacvice beach. If you don’t fancy the walk, be mindful with taxis - they are very expensive, however Ubers are much more reasonable. There are only 4 rooms here, which allows for a quiet and peaceful environment. Our room was a good size, and it was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided each day. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the room too. The only slight downside for us and this was by no means a show stopper was that there isn’t a balcony, however there is a nice big window with shutters that opens out so that the room is nice and airy/bright. There is also an air con unit which was great as the temperature was well into the 30’s during our stay! The grounds of the accommodation are beautiful; the gardens are well maintained and the swimming pool, albeit small, was great for a dip to cool off! From about 4pm onwards the cleaner leaves and the accommodation isn’t manned/no front desk. This wasn’t an issue at all for us but something to be mindful of if you did need anything. We had a lovely stay; thank you!

BEWARE: this is just a room rental, although it advertises as a BnB or small boutique hotel. There are NO services whatsoever. No front desk, no nothing. And the neighborhood is not great unless you like a lot of graffiti, old dudes smoking, drinking at every turn, and very little options for food. Not possible to rate a zero so I chose a 1 rating. One needs to connect with a rental agency to book a time to allow one to enter property for room rental. I suspect the race reviews are planted and not real.

The Palace Schon Milesi was a very nice place to stay, however, finding it was pretty challenging. We used Google Maps, but most of the roads in Croatia don’t have street signs on the roads, and then this guesthouse didn’t have any signs that it was a guesthouse. No signage at all. Parking in the neighborhood was limited, but we did find a place to park and then started asking neighbors that were around where the guesthouse was. It was good that the guesthouse had a swimming pool since that was unique for the area. The house did have dedicated parking for two cars and we had requested parking when we made the reservation, so that wasn’t an issue. The room was lovely. It was huge, bright and beautifully decorated. The room had a king bed and a very nice bathroom. The lady who owns the guesthouse was also very nice and shared some restaurants in the area that she likes. The house was owned by her grandmother and when she passed they turned it into a guesthouse. The walk to town was about 15-20 minutes and along the way there were two markets if you needed anything. We were always picking up drinks. Breakfast is not included in the room, so we ate in the old town area. On a side note, we needed to laundry in Split and it’s a little challenging finding self-service laundry mats. We did find one close to the mall, Speed Queen Praonica Rublja. They had 4 washers and 4 driers. The detergent and softener is included in the wash. We were able to do two loads of laundry for about 15E. It took us about an hour to do the wash.
