Red Roof Inn Somerset, PA

Daryl - night shift at front desk was very friendly & informative about area attractions and dining. He called to check if we needed anything else & really went above & beyond! Room was dated but clean & comfortable bed. The manager Alana was also a pleasure to speak with & shared the remodeling progress & plans. Since they are in the middle of remodeling, we will go back again to see the improvements. Very close to dining & shopping.

Our courtyard facing room was quiet, recently renovated, great bed, good shower. Daryl the night desk person gave us a warm welcome. Love that Red Roof is pet friendly. This is an extra sentence to fulfill the minimum 200 character requirement.

I have had some pretty dreadful Red Roof stays lately, so this was the last chance for me and this brand. Check in was fantastic. Nicely renovated lobby and friendly front desk person. They took over 2 buildings, but are only using 1. The other is sitting there unused, mostly looks to be storage. The property was a former Days Inn. The room was VERY nicely renovated! Seemed very new, fresh and clean. The front desk person even called my room to be sure everything was good. Nice sized TV (I did not use), WiFi worked well overall, plenty of working outlets. Tub was slightly high up, had hot water and decent pressure. Work desk/chair was comfy. The bed was very "economy" feeling, pillows were decent. The property is very close to plenty of food and shopping. Traffic in the area can be pretty brutal. Highway noise didn't bother me at all. I had requested a late checkout (12p) and set my alarm for 11am, and somehow, slept right through it. Happened to wake up at 12pm and immediately called the front desk apologizing. I ended up getting ready and checked out at 12:30pm. The girl at the front desk (purple glasses) was very pleasant and understanding, no hassle. This properly is VERY well run and has customer service every hotel should have. I will be staying here anytime I am back in the area for the races.

Brand spanking new!l…Clean, clean, clean! Comfy bed & a top-notch receptionist! Formerly a tatty Days Inn, this property was sold and completely renovated and overhauled. The new owners care about the quality of their guests’ experience and it is up to the mark! Housekeeping does an excellent job. Gwendolyn on the front desk could not have been better or more welcoming, and called me to check and make sure that everything was OK. They provide a little booklet listing several restaurants in the area and their menus, Information on local churches, points of interest, safety tips, plus a local map. It’s a Red Roof, so amenities are limited. But if you’re looking for a scrupulously clean, good nights rest, this should fit the bill. And the price is VERY tasty. It’s right off the PA Tpke., near other venues for travel-weary folks. There are a few minor dings..,potholes have planned repairs once the weather is warm enough (It has to be above 60°; (my husband is a retired NJDOT inspector… I learned about these things) and a breakfast bar is planned, as well as some decent snacks other than the standard vending machines.

We visited Somerset PA this past weekend to attend the Fire and Ice Festival and stayed at the Days Inn which was right down the street. Virginia checked us in and she couldn't have been nicer, super sweet and welcoming. Our room was clean, spacious enough for myself, hubby and our golden retriever and the beds/pillows were super comfy. Even though this hotel is located right by the interstate it was very quiet and there is even an Arby's in the same parking lot which was super convenient since after a day of walking around the Ice Festival then hiking at Ohiopyle we really weren't in the mood to drive any more that evening much less go to a sit down restaurant. I was super excited to find that this hotel offered breakfast that included make your own waffles (its the little things for me and after dealing with Covid these past couple of years I have really missed this being offered in hotels). Another bonus is that this place is not only right of the interstate but there are so many restaurants and amenities super close by. The only issue we had at all was our GPS didn't give us accurate directions to enter the hotel's parking lot but we figured that out after a few minutes. The past couple of times we have visited Ohiopyle we have stayed in Uniontown but now that we know how close this hotel is to the area we will be staying here, definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our stay. The workers there were very pleasant, the room was clean and the location was great for travelers. Only negative, and I understand this is short term, is there was no form of breakfast. Regardless of that, we would definitely stay again the next time we pass throught.

I left my drivers license at the property and they promptly sent it in the mail to me several days later. Kudos for great service!

The hotel is still under renovation! They opted for hard flooring throughout instead of carpet… not sure about that move. They are pet friendly, huge plus, you have to walk to the very back for level grass, no fence for Fido to run tho. Clean with friendly service, work in progress.

The guy who checked me in was wonderful. That was the best part of my stay. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, the tub was dirty, and the room was not quiet. At all. I could hear the interstate all night and was woken up at 330am but some super loud guy next door or outside.
