Pannen können immer mal passieren. Aber ein unprofessioneller und frecher Umgang damit ist nicht zu entschuldigen. Was war passiert? Trotz einer schriftlichen Reservierung, in der ich als Rollstuhlfahrer angekündigt worden war, wurde mir beim Check-in lapidar mitgeteilt, das einzige barrierefreie Zimmer sei belegt. Ich solle halt ein normales Zimmer nehmen. Oben angekommen, kam es, wie es kommen musste. Die Türen der normalen Zimmer alle zu eng! Also wieder zurück zur Rezeption. Dort entgegnete mir der Mitarbeiter, er habe keinen Fehler gemacht und hinterfragte, ob ich das Behindertenzimmer wirklich reserviert habe. Erst als ich ihm meine Reservierung zeigte, begann er, sich zu bemühen. Aber nicht etwa, um mir ein passendes Zimmer in einem anderen Hotel zu organisieren, sondern um den Hotelgast, der das Zimmer hatte, dort wieder hinauszubefördern. Also nicht nur ein verärgerter Gast, sondern zwei! An der Stelle reichte es mir und ich besorgte mir selber eine Alternative. Der Mitarbeiter war sichtlich erleichtert, aber an der Stelle wäre es nett gewesen, mal ein Wort der Entschuldigung zu hören. Fehlanzeige! Der Hotelmanager werde sich am nächsten Tag bei mir melden, hieß es. Aber bei der Ankündigung blieb es dann auch. Gutes Krisenmanagement geht definitiv anders!

That's how a fakir must feel. A pincushion of the finest. Every time I turned around I was awake with pain, so after two hours I decided to sleep the rest of the night in an armchair. Next to it, the facade spotlights shone into the room, and the darkening with blinds and curtains, which were not wide enough, worked only partially. Some of the furniture was really broken and the smoke detector was only visible as a socket on the ceiling. Next to it a lively cable tangle, which was obviously not built to the end. Also in the area of the corridors everywhere a considerable renovation backlog: letters of the lettering were missing, scuffs on the walls. The next morning at the reception, I complained about the night in the seating to the lady, who also tried to appease that problem, but could not or would not respond to my request for a 50% discount on the room rate. I also could not accept a free breakfast due to the upcoming customer appointment. My colleagues thought that I should have been fully reimbursed for the ”night”. A subsequent mail to the administration resulted in a 10% discount on the price. In summary: I think a new owner or management that will make the Plaza into one again, an it is urgently advised. It used to be a good hotel, but now it feels like the old GDR: no one cares anymore because no one owns it.

El personal es muy amable. Las habitaciones renovadas son estándar B y B. Actualmente se renovan allí. Seguro que será hermoso. Venga de nuevo.

I was at NH Schwerin for just a short one-night stay. I arrived about 9.30pm and the restaurant was shut. So Vanessa on reception was super helpful in trying to find a local food delivery service. However none were available so Vanessa managed to arrange bread and cheese from the kitchen. She was very helpful indeed.

Herr Janke, is such a kind man we meet him after our orginal hotel had double booked on us for our wedding!!! We visited his hotel highly stressed and not sure how we were going to make our wedding happen. We were meet by a very calm and helpful gentleman. Who was able to secure rooms for us and also give us several ideas for our wedding. We viewed several rooms which were spotlessly clean and looked very comfortable. Most if the rooms are overlooking a small type of courtyard and very quite. It is excellent value for money too. Love the fact that he runs a honesty policy for the beers you comsume there are fridges that you can help yourself to beer and then tell staff on check out Schewerin is a lovely city well worth a visit.
