My partner and I have eaten at The Lamb three times and have had exceptional meals every time. Their Sunday roast is amazing and their daily menu is exciting with the meals being well presented and delicious. We haven’t booked on any of our visits but the staff are always accommodating and very efficient. The whole place has a lovely ambience and I cannot rate it highly enough.

We stayed here for 1 night as we were visiting family in nearby Sherborne. The whole experience was lovely, the room is warm with good amenities and comfortable bed, good tv and living room area (we stayed in room 15). The bed and shower are on an upper level. We also had a meal in the pub on a busy Saturday night, service was friendly and the timing was neither rushed or slow. The food quality excellent (my wife had a sirloin steak and I had the fish of the day). Breakfast service the next morning was a bit slower but after a walk around the area was just what we needed

Went for lunch. The lamb was so tough it was inedible, the place was so small there was very little fish on it and the steak was expensive. £10 for a small glass of red wine!!! Very slow service. They did take the price of the inedible meals off the bill. Such a shame as the surroundings are lovely. A birthday not to remember!

Welcoming,efficient and lovely staff. Food tasty and well served .Good choice of dishes. Reasonable prices. Lovely garden across the road to relax in the sunshine . Fine with children. All in all a very good experience in a beautiful village.

We were very well looked after and the food was delicious. A special touch was a drop of port as a gift in our room. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot, table-service was friendly and patient. We loved the feel of the place, it felt cared-for. We'd definitely go again.

We enjoyed a lovely relaxing weekend at The Lamb. The staff were very welcoming from the beginning to the end of our stay. The room was well equipped and cosy, with lots of nice touches like a welcome drink and good quality toiletries. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the cooked breakfast we sampled on the first morning was of a very high standard, as was the service. Our choices on the other two days were equally as good. Lovely location, building and people and lots to do nearby. Hope to return in the future. Thank you The Lamb at Hindon.

What you might expect from an old pub with rooms in a village by way of facilities, toiletries, features and charm, creaky floors, but wouldn’t choose it again when next travelling that way. From my brief stay the food seemed expensive, coffee costs extra at breakfast (on top of £15)! Couldn’t get wifi to work in evening (and no O2 signal). Room ok but no internal lock on door, difficult to open window, noisy pipes (old building), and a lot of shower spray ends up outside short glass screen so very wet floor.

A short hop off the A303, great stop for lunch. Dropped in to break the journey west, and wasn’t disappointed at all. Beautiful building, very cosy, with a warm greeting and excellent service. Food lovely, had a proper burger and was particularly taken with the outstanding mustard tray.
