The Colli Albani district is well-served by public transportation with the 'Colli Albani - Parco Appia Antica' metro station on line A providing easy access to the city center: Via del Corso, Piazza Venezia, Spanish Steps (Piazza di Spagna), Piazza Barberini, Fontana di Trevi, Piazzale Flaminio, Villa Borghese, Colosseum, Roman Forum, Basilica of St. John Lateran (Basilica di San Giovanni). Additionally, the area is crossed by various bus lines (among them the best ones are lines 85 and 87). Colli Albani offers a good range of services and commercial activities to meet any need: supermarkets, laudries, pharmacies, gyms. Along Via Appia Nuova, there are numerous shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. One of the main attractions of the area is the Caffarella Park, which is part of the larger Appia Antica Regional Park. This park is a vast green area offering walking trails, cycling paths, and picnic areas, along with important archaeological sites such as the Tomb of Cecilia Metella and other ancient Roman remains.
To get from Fiumicino Airport to the apartment, there are two options using public transport:
1. Take the regional train (bookable on the "Trenitalia" website) from Fiumicino Airport to Tuscolana Station, which takes 40 minutes. From there, it's about a 1.5 km walk to the apartment.
2. Take the Leonardo Express train from Fiumicino Airport to "Roma Termini" (it takes 30 minutes). From Termini, you can take metro line A to Colli Albani (a 10-minute ride). The Colli Albani metro stop is 350 meters from the apartment.
In terms of distance, if you prefer to take a taxi: from Fiumicino Airport it's 30 kilometers (about 35 minutes by car without traffic), and from Ciampino Airport (CIA) it's 10 kilometers (about 12 minutes by car).
