This place is just amazing. The staff, services, view, location are second to none. Dinner at The Vintage Chophouse last night was phenomenal. Special was prime rib which was prepared perfectly and enough for 2 people to share. Plus we had enough to take to our room for the next day. The service was perfect, especially Nate and the hostess. Bartender was fabulous also.

We were booked at the Inn at Bay Harbor for a weekend wedding. Stayed in a three bedroom cottage which had wonderful views of the lake. The rooms were clean but lacked the proper amenities for the number of guests it can accommodate. As an example, a group of 7 would have to share a single 20-30ml bottle of lotion. Although we brought our own toiletries, that should have not been the case since the cottage cost over $1k/night. The mattress topper in some rooms were not as comfortable since it was lopsided. I do appreciate however , that the cottage was clean. My husband and I had a typical average buffet breakfast at the hotel. Skip this unless you are in a rush like we were. There are other places to dine in that are walkable from the hotel. Overall, I would still recommend the place since it is seems to be the best accommodation in the area. The place is about a 30 minute drive from Castle Farms, where weddings are usually held and also from the town of Charlevoix. A very interesting quaint town to explore .

Even with awful weather the Inn at Bay Harbor was warm, welcoming and wonderful. The staff was competent and friendly, the Grand King room had: a balcony and nice view of the water/grounds, a king, a fireplace and a kitchenette. The valet system (no charge) was quick, convenient and efficient. A wonderful breakfast was also included in the room rate. Special effort was gracefully on display throughout the Inn. It was especially evident with food. Even fresh baked welcome cookies included a gluten free option, our room had chocolate cherries from Kilwins with an offer to schedule a tour, breakfast was wonderful for most every diet: It included sugar free and vegan options and an omelette station that could easily handle egg white only and severe allergy guests. Well done to the entire staff, impressive. For sure we'll return next time we are in the area. (Note:This beautiful Inn is only about 5 minutes from Petosky).

we liked pretty much everything about this hotel! the breakfast was fantastic and freshly prepared. the room was spacy, had a lovely fireplace, a kitchen with a huge fridge and an unforgettable view and you can fall asleep listening to the surf sounds of the waves. the restaurant serves some of the best truffle fries we ever had (very garlic-y) free valet parking, very friendly staff. we were very happy here :)

It was a wedding for our niece. It was a windy and cold day. The only nice staff were the the people serving appetizers and the bartenders. The other staff operating the doors were the the ruddiest and nasty people I and or their people said ever in countered! They said they were the only doors and with the cold wind blowing in and there were infants it was freezing. They were rude and said to bad move. And we moved to farther back tables. But the first quarter section tables left! I would never ever go there again it was our first and last! Stay away!

Beautiful property excellent service would be nice if they had an indoor hot tub

I stayed in a Suite on the second floor. It was very well appointed and exceptionally clean. I was at the property to help put on a Hot Air Balloon Festival. The venue was simply stunning for such an event - held annually in late September. Never ran out of hot water and all technology was funcitonal in the room. Bed was very comfy and I like softer pillows and that is what they offered. No sound issues from suite to suite even though they were sold out. They are a beautiful venue just south of Petoskey and worth the experience! Nice shops and cute little grocery store to conveniently stock up your fridge.

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights. The spa was great, the breakfast was great, the chophouse was great. The doormen were always smiling. The front desk staff was kind. The room was clean and beautiful (the bathroom floor needed steaming or swiffering). But everything was so close to perfect. The smiling kindness of every staff member is what made this place so awesome. We will return again

My husband and wanted a romantic getaway. We requested a room with a king-size bed and ended up with two queens. From the day we made the reservation months in advance up until the actual check-in we tried to fix this issue. We were told to mention it when we checked in. We did and we were abruptly told all kings were spoken for and no upgrades available. We intentionally stopped by early the morning of our arrival, and we were told they had already given all upgrades and kings away. This was very disappointing. Another issue was the bathroom, there are NO drawers or counter space for items, just not practical. Additionally, we wanted to extend our stay due to bad weather early in the week, we were told a manager had to ok it and would let us know. We waited for a call that never came. After several inquirers we were told the manager was off for a couple of days. Unacceptable, we should have been told sooner but more importantly how can you not have a manager on duty? In the end we did stay an additional day. We were notified by email the morning of the extra day. We had to change rooms; however, it was still not a king size bed and worse we were facing the parking lot and shipping/delivery docks. On a positive note, the hotel itself and location are beautiful! Most of the staff are wonderful and professional with welcoming, positive attitudes. Mark, the valet/shuttle driver and other valets were outstanding. The morning buffet breakfast was exceptional, everything was delicious and fresh, especially the fruit and made to order omelets. The restaurant staff was remarkably kind and attentive. Other notable amenities, the fire pit, smores kits (nice touch) and shuttle service were greatly appreciated. We will consider staying again however we would need to be guaranteed the proper room accommodation prior to arrival.
