Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars; First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review. The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-) Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance. 1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process. 2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance. Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

Este hotel no es conveniente desde el aeropuerto. No hay autobús lanzadera desde el aeropuerto. Vimos una reseña falsa que decía que hay un autobús lanzadera. ¡es muy malo! ¡Ctrip no debería permitir tal revisión! Cuando nos dimos cuenta de que no había autobús desde el aeropuerto, llamamos a un Uber desde el aeropuerto para ir al hotel. El Uber cuesta 46 dólares por trayecto (sin propina). Aunque el hotel no está muy lejos del aeropuerto. No sabemos por qué es tan caro. Así que pagamos 100 dólares sólo desde y hacia el aeropuerto. No estamos contentos con eso :( Así que no te quedes en este hotel si vas desde el aeropuerto. No cometa el mismo error que nosotros y desperdicie su dinero.

El hotel estuvo en perfecto estado, las personas de recepción muy amables, las habitaciones cómodas y con todos lo ítems necesarios para pasar la noche, el personal del servicio muy amables también, cerca para poder tomar buses y tren El desayuno muy bueno Lo único que no me agrado es que las alfombras del pasillo tienen un fuerte olor a humedad

La vista de la ciudad sigue siendo excelente, con una vista panorámica. El servicio fue cálido y acogedor. La terraza estaba cerrada por la noche debido al viento. La última vez que lo visité, vi que era un lugar ideal para tomar fotos y tomar algo. Un agradecimiento especial a Deanna, de recepción; fue increíblemente cálida y amable. Fue un placer volver a verla. ¡Le deseé una Feliz Navidad y espero verla pronto!

Todo estuvo tan bien hasta que me devuelven el dinero de la garantía, me retire del hotel y todo ok, me devuelven la plata a los 2 dias y el mismo día me vuelven a cobrar!!!!!, que estamos hablando? Osea me quedo ahi porque confío en la cadena de hotel y pasa esto? Mande 2 correos y aun no responden nada. Lo encuentro último y fatal el error y que a la fecha aun no se responsabilicen por el nefasto error y no respondan nada de nada No vayan!!!! My wife and I visited Catalina Island for our 28th anniversary — our first time back since before we were married in 1997. We chose the Catalina Canyon Inn specifically for the pool, jacuzzi, on-site restaurant, and shuttle service. Their website is very nice and seemed like a perfect match for the occasion. Unfortunately, very little matched what was advertised. Shuttle: The shuttle was not waiting at the Catalina Express port when we arrived on the last ferry Saturday evening which was unexpected. Four of us were left waiting in the dark for about 20 minutes until the other couple called the hotel. The driver was friendly and apologized, but this set the tone for the weekend. The shuttle was consistently unreliable throughout our stay. They tell you to call the driver directly, but he often didn't answer. You'd end up having to call the hotel instead, and the shuttle only seemed to come after someone went inside and told the front desk in person. At one point we waited 45 minutes. Some guests got frustrated and just decided to walk, but the hotel sits at the top of a steep hill — not a realistic option, especially for older guests like us. Their website suggests the shuttle runs regularly, but that was far from our experience. Restaurant: We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 PM Saturday and were turned away, even though their website says they're open until 8:00 PM. We had to rush down the hill to find dinner to-go in town before the shuttle stopped running at 8:45. It was a shame we didn't even have time to stay and eat on our anniversary or face having to trek up that hill. The next morning I mentioned this to the restaurant owner, who insisted they closed at 8:00 and that she was there. She then told us the restaurant closes at 2:00 PM on Sundays — so dinner there that night wasn't an option either. She was very friendly though I must say. On Monday we finally had breakfast before checkout. The food was mediocre and didn't match the glowing reviews at all. The prices were also odd — $12 for mozzarella sticks, $20 for nachos, but only $11 for pulled pork sliders, which you'd expect to be the pricier item. The pricing just didn't add up. While we were there, another couple was turned away at 1:30 PM because the restaurant closes from 2–4 on Mondays. We could feel their frustration. Jacuzzi: The jacuzzi we were looking forward to was covered up and converted into a gazebo with chairs. At first we couldn't find it but yea. No mention of this on the website. Room issues: The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The front desk told us we can mention it to housekeeping, who didn't come until after 5:00 PM. We got the soap and a couple fresh towels. The towels themselves were thin and didn't dry well overnight so fresh ones were sorely needed to get at least one shower in with soap before we had to leave the next day. The TV didn't work at all, and the microwave was unplugged — though I was able to fix that myself. The hotel also doesn't offer complimentary coffee, which is standard at most hotels we've stayed at for half the price. The good: The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the balcony was a nice touch. The room was quiet. Bottom line: The website gives a very different impression than what you actually get. Between the unreliable shuttle, limited and unpredictable restaurant hours, missing amenities, thin towels, and no coffee, this was not the anniversary experience we hoped for. I'd recommend staying somewhere closer to downtown so you're not dependent on a shuttle and stuck with limited options. I think we need to redo our anniversary. It was a miss for sure.

Tuve una estadía absolutamente maravillosa, hice varias excursiones de un día dentro de los EE. UU. por relajación. Aterrizó por la mañana, el transbordador llegó en 10 minutos, aterrizó por la noche igual. Sólo el último día. El transporte tardó demasiado, así que decidí caminar 15 minutos hasta el aeropuerto. La habitación estaba muy limpia y muy espaciosa. Limpiaban la habitación todos los días. Hay un autobús a la vuelta de la esquina hacia la región de UCLA y Santa Mónica. También se puede llegar al centro en 40 min en autobús o 15 min en coche. En general, una gran experiencia la recomendaría y definitivamente la visitaría nuevamente la próxima vez que esté en Los Ángeles.

En general buena experiencia, la habitación espaciosa y lo mejor es la cama, en verdad es comodisima y puedes descansar muy bien. Lo único que no me gustó para nada fue el precio del estacionamiento 55dlls más tax y que no hay wifi en las habitaciones, tienes que pagarlo aparte, si no fuera por eso lo valoraría como excelente.

Muy amables en recepción, el shuttle gratuito para llegar es una ventaja importante, no te preocupas por el traslado para descansar

位置很好 在西荷里活大街上 唯一就是低樓層臨街會有點吵 最開始住2樓 當天是週五週六 樓下有party很吵鬧，後來幫換到了高樓層，餐廳食物很新鮮也很好吃，整體體驗還不錯
