My daughter and I have been away from Siquijor and Kalachuchi for five days, but the breathtaking scenery, the warm-hearted people, and the memories we made there remain vivid in our minds. Kalachuchi is a beautiful and magical beach resort. On the day we checked in, the front desk had even prepared a personalized welcome sign for us, and the owner greeted us in Chinese, which made us feel truly welcomed. The resort’s architecture and decor, primarily made from natural wood, exude a rustic and artistic charm. The restaurant faces the sea and serves delicious food; the courtyard features a serene swimming pool; and the rooms, mostly standalone two-story cabins, offer peaceful nights. The entire resort is surrounded by some of the most stunning coastline we’ve ever seen. We unfortunately got injured on our way back to the resort after an overly enthusiastic adventure with tree vines and diving. The owner and the staff offered us so much help and support, even preparing handmade wooden canes for us and assisting with all kinds of unexpected needs. Their kindness and thoughtfulness meant a great deal to us and made us feel safe and cared for during a difficult moment. Thank you to everyone at Kalachuchi for your warm hospitality and generous help. We’re truly grateful, and we believe our paths will cross again someday.

Adoro la vista del resort aunque no estaba cerca de las principales atracciones. No nos interesaban los itinerarios habituales que ofrecen las visitas, así que nos quedamos en el resort. La habitación no tiene comida ni bebida, pero es fácil de entender, dado el estado de los incendios en la isla, y por lo tanto, dejamos algunos de nuestros artículos atrás porque olvidamos reclamarlos durante el check-out. No mucho, pero algo que tomar nota.

¡Alojarse aquí en Siquijor es la decisión correcta, es realmente genial! Reservé la habitación con medio mes de antelación y es el hotel de cinco estrellas más barato en el que me he alojado. Dos días antes de la llegada, puedes enviar un correo electrónico al hotel para que te recojan gratis en el muelle de Siquijor. Atención: Al reservar la habitación, intenta evitar los días de luna nueva, ya que no se puede nadar ni hacer snorkel (las fechas de luna nueva están en la imagen). El snorkel también es fantástico y gratuito, el agua es muy poco profunda y hay muchos corales. La cena del hotel es de pago, el sabor es aceptable y cuesta unos 110 RMB por persona, ideal para los perezosos que no quieren salir. A cinco kilómetros hay un restaurante tailandés que es delicioso, la mejor comida que he probado en Siquijor.

Sí, no hay agua caliente, pero honestamente, el ducha fría se siente refrescada después de un día caliente. We stayed for 2 nights at Zosimo’s Inn. Our rooms was massive with kitchen and a fridge. Our second room upstairs was where our young adults stayed. The place is clean, room was very welcoming. Bed has the right firmness. Sheets and towels were crisp white. Toiletries were provided. No Netflix or Disney on the TV. Reception answers inquiries promptly. This was the reason I opted for this place. The price I paid for was just right with breakfast included. There is a very close walkable street food in Lazi, which was great. Our breakfast was served in a nearby eatery where our meal was prepared as ordered. Overall, it was a good stay, aside from its distance from the main city- around 30 minutes. I can recommend this place if distance to the noisy main city is not for you. I was gonna upload photos but trip.com website takes a long while to upload. ☹️

This resort is far away from the main area and there’s nothing really around the resort. In itself that is something I’d prefer, but the lack of access to things outside is something they seem to take advantage of. Beautiful location with problems occurring whenever you need help from staff members. Never in my life have I been at a hotel which tried to charge me for water, the thing we need to survive as humans. We asked the hotel if they could order us a tuktuk fto get to dinner as I wanted to drink so I didn’t want to take our scooter. They said no problem. 2.5 hours later we are assured for the 5th time, “just another 15 minutes”. By the time we are it was 10 pm but the hotel offered no apology, the manager of the hotel just told us that this is Philippine culture, which we needed to understand. How patronising. We weren’t told on check in you need to actually ask for your room to be cleaned and when I did ask my towels were taken away and no replacements were given. It seems there is a lack of any communication between the staff. On the positives the sunset is amazing and the food there is good too. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The whole place is totally let down by bad management and a reluctance to give anything for free. Even the basics. A promising place, but they fall down badly on the basics and for that reason I wouldn’t recommend it

El hotel es limpio, el servicio es bueno y el personal es muy agradable, amigable y acomodable. La ubicación es también conveniente y lo hace fácil de llegar. La habitación está muy bien, pero no hay que olvidar que el hotel está en una situación muy difícil. Alternativamente, usted puede alquilar una motocicleta fuera del puerto de pier, que es una gran opción si usted planea explorar toda la isla durante su estancia. En general, tuve una experiencia agradable y me gustaría recomendar este hotel.
