It was shabby and didn’t look like the pictures. The bedroom was sp**** and in need of decoration. There was a squashed spider on the floor. The black out curtains were good. There was no lift. Two flights f stairs to climb. The carpets on the stairs needed a clean. The breakfast - the coffee was unbearably weak. There was no access to the garden and it didn’t feel solar powered or particularly sustainable. The only thing that was nice was the area - really nice and very French.

The location is convenient to dining and the metro, and the staff are nice and it is a cute hotel. On the down side the only cooling is from the window which we had to keep open during the night, but it is noisy outside, so good luck sleeping well unless you're very jetlagged. I asked for a fan but they said no, and they only turn the whole building AC on when it is supper hot I guess. Also there is no shower door or curtain, so you have to shower carefully so water doesn't go everywhere. That is kind of 3rd worldish in my opinion, and I asked the staff about a shower curtain and they said no. So I have mixed feelings and probably wouldn't return.

We have enjoyed excellent breakfasts and staffs were lovely. Nice location surronded by restaurants and supermarkets. However, there's water dripping from the pipes in the toilet which is a bit concerning and it would be great if the room can equip a fan for the summer.

If you're concerned about the environment and want to stay somewhere that's doing its bit to be eco friendly the Solar Hotel is a great choice. Situated in a lively local area with good RER and metro links the hotel offers basic ensuite rooms with recycled furniture and eco shower and toilet. Bikes available to guests for free if you want to risk cycling in Paris. Excellent simple breakfast with good quality food and unlimited coffee and really friendly staff. Numerous bars, restaurants, shops within 200m. Despite that the hotel is quiet. Ask for a room overlooking the back garden.

We had 4 rooms booked for our party- specifically booked for the main hotel. We were put in the satellite location. There was no elevator in that building or air conditioning. None of our party enjoyed their rooms. Our room was dark and in disrepair (the lights in the entry way were removed so we could not see when we entered the room at night - thank goodness for phone flashlights), the refrigerators in all 4 rooms were broken. The floor was warped. We happened to visit during a very hot week so not having a refrigerator or AC was disappointing. The staff shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do. The only good thing about this place was the price. Oh, and the breakfast croissants, they were delicious. Choose somewhere else!

We really enjoyed our one night stay in the Solar Hotel. It is exceptionally good value for its central Paris location. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We liked being able to securely store our two bikes in the back garden. The hotel is located in a nice part of the city with many local shops and restaurants. It had a village type feel and seemed very safe. Breakfast of baguette, croissant, yoghurt, juice and coffee was satisfactory. By far the best part of our stay was the staff. Without exception they were really friendly, helpful and efficient and made our stay an absolute pleasure. We cannot wait to return.

This year I turned 50 years old and I received as a gift, from my wife, a stay in Paris! We carefully looked at several hotels in Paris and chose a unique location: an eco-friendly hotel, made of recyclable materials, with bio-integral breakfast, at the intersection with one of the most beautiful shopping streets in Paris, Rue Daguerre. I saw the presentation of the hotel on Youtube, in which the owner appeared, in which he presented this unique concept of the hotel! Extraordinary and exceptional! We enjoyed the whole stay in Paris, for 1 week and we recommend this hotel with confidence. Excellent position, very friendly staff and the possibility to serve yourself, especially in the evening: teas, coffee, liquid chocolate also available at your discretion, kettle, honey, yogurts, juices, etc. Vive la France!

Quartier sympathique avec métro à deux pas ainsi que les Catacombes. Pleins de petits restaurants pour manger ou emporter à proximité. L'hôtel est bien situé, facile d'accès. Accueil sympathique. Chambre de bonne taille et confortable. Classique mais propre ce qui est le plus important. Le seul point négatif est la vétusté des fenêtres qui n'isolent pas très bien et où l'on entend beaucoup la rue.

Personnel très aimable mais très déçue par le petit-déjeuner bio certes mais sans saveur et peu diététique : pain blanc bas de gamme croissant bien gras le thé n'a aucun goût Pas de céréales. Je ne reviendrai pas.
