Marriott's Lakeshore Reserve

Very nice resort. The onsite restaurant had decent food and there were other options next door at the Marriott. The gym was well equiped. The pool and grounds are spectacular, and we spent most of our time there. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Great 4 night trip !

Nice resort. Not too noisy, enjoyable 'lazy river', adequate shade for those of us that 'burn don't tan'. A short walk to two excellent properties for bar/restaurant options, as well as a good spot on property for burgers/etc. Excellent spa at the neighboring Ritz. Villas are comfortable and well equipped. We've been going there for a number of years. Only complaint is that they have modified the outdoor 'grills' into 'outdoor ovens'. Can't really call them BBQ grills anymore as they have a huge metal plate over the burners so there is no 'searing' or flame marks. On our last visit there we did our steaks in the unit, using their pan to sear, then into the oven to finish. Disappointing, as we always plan our meals around using the BBQ, and that they have ruined that aspect. At Crystal Shores this week, and they have preserved (so far) their BBQ grills as actual BBQ grills.

My wife and I decided to attend EPCOT's annual Food and Wine festival at the last minute and I noticed that there were a few Vacation Club properties available for the three days that we wanted to go. We typically stay at Grande Vista or Cypress Harbour, but noticed that Lakeshore Reserve (LR) was also available and decided to check it out for the first time. What we experienced was beyond compare, I was expecting the typical garden variety villa, but the LR was different, much different. The decor was upscale and the size was slightly larger than the typical MCVI unit. The grounds were exquisite and proximity to the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton enhanced our stay (LR guests can use the Ritz Carlton pool but have to pay $50/per family to use the JW pool). The lazy river was just OK because there wasn't much "oomph" in the water flow in certain areas, which equated to propelling myself around by foot, but it was relaxing none-the-less. After a tiring day we decided to eat poolside at Blossom's, which actually turned out to be better than I would have thought since it's just a bar with takeout service. While the villa was among the most comfortable that we have ever stayed in, with plenty of cool blowing and quiet A/C, as well as a two headed shower, there was one item that bothered us a great deal.. there's a window in each side of the bed and they are fitted with Roman shades, which aesthetically look great, but they don't keep any sunlight out - none. There we were at 6:30am with a brightly lit room. What I love about most properties are the blackout drapes, which keep the room pitch black even during the height of the day. The Board may want to consider installing pull-down window shades behind the Roman shades. There was plenty of free parking in front of the buildings and a shuttle runs between LR and the hotels, although the JW took us five minutes to walk. One thing struck me about this property versus the others in Orlando, and that is that this one is geared more towards adults than families with kids, which could be a good thing. As I said, LR is on the same grounds as the JW and Ritz Carlton, which both have a wide assortment of restaurants, albeit expensive ones, and also offers spas. I want to close on a note about a subject that others have written about.. Bonvoy elite status. Some have complained that their late check-out benefits were not honored. The Platinum and Titanium elite status rules are very upfront about this, that Marriott Vacation Club properties and resorts do not honor these benefits, so please don't go into it expecting them to apply to your stay. Checkout time is 10:00am because the units are large and it takes time for housekeeping to change two bedrooms, clean and replenish two bathrooms and deal with pots and pans as well as filling and emptying the dishwasher, all in order to get the room ready for the next guest. My husband and I spent 17 days at Lakeshore Reserve during 2 stays in 2023. We had a wonderful time and the service was outstanding. From the time we checked in until we left everyone went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and always greeted us with a warm smile. The staff at the pool bar really go out of their way to get you exactly what you want and are super helpful with suggestions to enhance your experience. Francesca, Christian, Nikon and Spenser are so friendly and truly go the extra mile to take great care of you. A great big thank you!! I wish I could remember everyone’s name who helped make our vacation so special. The woman at the desk who checked us in walked us to our room to make sure we could find it and were happy with it. The exceptional woman who looks after the pool security makes sure things stay peaceful while still allowing people to enjoy themselves. Footballs can really hurt and she doesn’t allow them or any other dangerous objects being thrown around, thank you. We look forward to returning soon. The location is also very convenient offering many dining options at the JW Marriott and The Ritz.

Very nice property. Staff was accomodating. My reservation got cancelled in error and the manager was great in fixing the error! WOULD DEF STAY AGAIN!

Although this is our first time visiting this property, we are no strangers to Marriott's properties. Whenever possible, we choose to stay with Marriott if possible. This property is gorgeous and very tranquil. If you want the hustle and bustle of Grand Vista, do not stay here. It is very serene and laid back, but you can be as busy as you wish. This property is as beautiful inside as it is outside. My one complaint is that some of the decor and the awkward layout of the villas could have utilized the space more efficiently. Still, I recommend you to visit this beautiful, beautiful resort. The staff are very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I am already planning my next visit.

We have stayed at the grande lakes property many times. The Marriott hotel and the ritz Carlton. The Lakshore Reserve has potential but is lacking. The front desk staff are not accommodating and act as if they are doing a favor when checking in, asking questions etc. We overheard several other customers at the counter with similar issues. The pool and restaurant were nice, no complaints. No in room delivery or other amenities we would have expected. We were pushed out of room at 10am promptly. Overall much room for improvement. As Marriott convoy members we thought this doesn’t compare to the normally great customer service. We will not be staying here again.

Thiago provided a great check-in experience and allowed us to leave our luggage at the front desk while we waited to be assigned our room (we arrived prior to check-in as we just came off a cruise ship). We felt very secure leaving our items and Thiago was very attentive for any questions about the property and the restaurant. He also ensured to clarify all the opening and closing dates of the services as we got ourselves situated to the resort. Christian, Francesca, Neekho, and Spencer were all amazing at the restaurant/bar - excellent customer service and attention to detail. Also very easy to talk to and full of great recommendations. We really appreciated how hard working their entire team was. My daughter also loved all the children's activities they had on site and the entertainment staff were great (and really great with the kids!). The pool was gorgeous and had a number of places with shade. The lawn activities, pool table and ping pong table were also great fun. We really enjoyed our stay and all the wonderful staff. I booked a studio room at this hotel on Marriott.com, in September, 2023, for two nights. The booking was for a studio room. Prior to arrival, I received an email from MVClakeshorereserve .This email was sent by the hotel AFTER the allowed 48 hour Marriott cancellation policy had passed. The email was sent to me 22 hours after their deadline. The email that stated that my room would be an ADA room. I phoned the hotels front desk, and asked for the room, a studio, that I had reserved. The woman at the front desk told me that because I had only reserved a week prior, that an ADA was all that was available. I was told that the vacation club reservations are made years in advance, and that since I had booked at the last minute, I would get an ADA room. She advised that I could not cancel, and would be charged for one night stay. At that point, I was ready to call my credit card company to dispute the charges, and skip the stay altogether. Bottom line, after three calls to Marriott Bonvoy/Reservations, I was assured I would get the studio room that I had booked. My last few stays here have seen declining customer service. I knew this going in, but did not plan on asking Marriott employees for anything. Now, they downgrade you after their 48 hour cancellation policy expires. The front desk made no upgrade offer, however. It's always great to start one's vacation with an argument with an unknown Marriott employee, before you even get there. The face of the company has changed in a very negative manner.
