Il Chiostro

This was one of the highlights of our 10 day tour of Italy. Antonio, the manager, was exceptionally friendly and engaging. The converted monastery was beautifully renovated and very comfortable. This is a perfect base to visit Sorrento and/or ferry to the Amalfi coast or Capri.

The place is very unique , Sabrina is very helpfull and sweet, the amenity need a little improvement , but overall the place is realy good! One thing , on friday you can not park near by

Although the first impression of the place is not the best (espcially if you arrive at night as it was our case), as soon as you step inside the place, everything changes. It is located inside a convent, with six rooms - we occupied a 4-bedroom and a 2-bedroom both of them spacious, quiet and clean. Breakfast is absolutely marvelous, comprising many homemade pastries, cereal and excellent capuccinos!! The place has a terrace with magnificent views of the sunset on the sea, with some tables or chairs to have a drink. There is also a restaurant a few steps beside which is an excellent option for dinner. Sabrina and Giullia are always available for advice either in person or by wapp and they really run this place as a family bussiness. Thank you both for your patience and your help. A very spiritual place where you can really relax and enjoy the sound of nature, the church bells, and the melody of the birds. We were welcomed by Sabrina who took good care of us and answered all our questions. The view from the terrace is spectacular and the sunset is amazing. The breakfast is very good, great selections, home cooked dishes with home grown veggies and fruits from the property. There are restaurants within walking distance. We took the short cut several times into town to have lunch or walk around the beautiful neighborhoods. We spent three days there and really loved it!

We had a lovely week at Il Relais. The team were extremely helpful and very accommodating and always keen to go the extra mile. They were very generous to celebrate my boyfriends birthday too. The hotel is well positioned if you want to dip in and out of the main attractions along the Amalfi Coast. It is a great base and I would reccomend it. thank you for a lovely stay.

This out-of-the-way hotel was a disappointment. The pictures don’t represent the general decrepit and shabby nature of the place. At the dead-end of a small village road, it was very tough to find (small sign just next to the front door) and inside a pretty run-down cloister/monastery. While the concept of staying in a unique place is appealing, the overall experience wasn’t great because the execution is off. The highlight was the friendly staff, cleanliness of the room and check-in area (despite some funky bathroom doors), and room AC in a very hot time of year. The lowlight was the bad Wi-Fi, small/cramped bathroom where we had day without functioning water, and the general condition of the property. Be prepared to lug all suitcases up an entry ramp and then two flights of stairs. Also, Friday is market day and we needed to park our car 450meters away the night before (otherwise car is towed) which wasn’t ideal on the day of our checkout. I don’t want to give a bad review but feel like I need to be honest so that others go in open to what this property is and isn’t.

The B&B was created in a convent, which is still partially functional. All around there are olive and lemon groves, beautiful. The management is homely, carried out entirely by women led by Arianna, very efficient and personalized. Excellent breakfast. Possibility of making coffee at any time with the espresso machines operating 24 hours a day. On the roof there is a terrace where an aperitif is served on request and has an exceptional view of the Gulf of Naples and Capri, Ischia and Procida. You can also see the top of Vesuvius. The structure is located on the high ground, and makes it easy to descend both to the Sorrento side, and to that of Positano and Amalfi. Next to the Chiostro there is a new restaurant, opened a few months ago, which serves very good gourmet recipes. Wifi connection is good.

It was a great location , very nice lady when we checked in. Ariana made us a great breakfast every morning. Beautiful monastry! We loved it!

Abbiano fatto un breve soggiorno presso il Relais il Chiostro scegliendolo principalmente per la posizione equidistante da Sorrento centro e Nerano, e a due passi da marina Lobra. Lo staff, in particolare Sabrina ed Arianna, si sono mostrate cortesi e professionali fin dalla prenotazione. La location è perfetta per chi vuole ritagliarsi un momento di relax, riconciliandosi con se stessi. Colazione ricca e genuina. Le camere ben accessoriate, e a coronare il soggiorno l'aperitivo in terrazza da cui è possibile godere di un tramonto molto suggestivo con vista sulle isole campane. Perfetto per una coppia.
