Riad Sapphire & Spa

What a wonderful oasis of calm and kindness. I had one last evening here after attending a conference and it was a wonderful rest. The room was gorgeous, the roof top terrace so beautiful and the place is spotless. My room was strewn with rose petals on arrival and the staff made me so welcome. The breakfast was amazing - too much for me to manage solo and delicious coffee/ mint tea. I will come back.

Very happy with our stay at Sapphire Riad,the property itself is lovely. Quiet, clean and an oasis of calm after the chaos of the Medina. No more than 25 minutes by taxi from the airport and at the north west side of the Medina,within walking distance to all the major sights but we did get a taxi back to the Riad from the Fnar square on one occasion as it was very hot. Taxis are cheap-if you haggle! We were greeted by the wonderful Abdo who served us Mint tea and delicious cake on arrival and throughout our stay was always on hand,along with his colleague, to assist in any way he could, including ringing a local restaurant to book a reservation. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was lovely and spacious with a walk-in shower and very efficient air-con, there is a small plunge pool and several delightful quiet public areas to sit and also a roof top terrace to sit in the sun if preferable. Breakfast was particularly impressive, beautifully presented with a huge array of delicious savoury and sweet items which varied everyday (the chocolate cake was particularly good!) all served by the delightful staff. We would not hesitate to stay at this Riad again and highly recommend

Very beautiful Riad. We felt very welcomed by everybody. The Riad is peaceful and you can reach anything within walking distance but you can also easily take a taxi. The environment felt really save and we can fully recommend it.

Delighted we booked this gem of a hotel . From our arrival to our departure the excellent hospitality did not waiver. Every request was honoured and both Abdo and Driss did their upmost to ensure our stay there was perfect. We ate at the Riad on our first night and the food was delicious and plentiful. We also booked a’ couples ‘ Salt/Spa trea**ent which we would highly recommend. The Riad is immaculate and very tranquil in its setting. We slept very well! The whole team are exceptional hosts and we would definitely stay there again. Thank you again, and keep up the good work Team Saphire! Sam & Ally.

If you are traveling to Marrakech to experience something new, staying in a traditional Riad within the Medina is MUST! We were impressed right from the beginning when our host, Abdo, welcomed us with a warm, enthusiastic smile, excellent English and delicious tea and chocolate banana cakes as we 'checked-in'! Our room was on the first floor right off the courtyard, and while not very large, I was SHOCKED at the relatively low price we paid for what we received. When we entered our room we saw that not only was it beautify decorated but there were rose pedals EVERYWHERE (certainly not what we are used to in our world travels for roughly $100 USD/night). WOW! The breakfast that is included was impressive as well; hot/cold dishes, breads, tea/coffee, yogurt, fruit and more smiles. With only about 5 rooms, you truly feel like you are in your own home with a wonderful staff to take care of anything you need. The location is GREAT - we easily walked to Jemma el Fna and the other attractions/souks within the Medina, and if you decide to eat outside of the Riad (though, we certainly didn't need to), Dar Zellij (top rated restaurant) is mere yards away.

The Riad Sapphire was one of the best places i have stayed in, due in the main to the very helpful staff. The riad has been modernised but is very a**ospheric, in the streets of the medina to the north of the centre. We booked a cab from the airport with the staff in advance and were met at the point the cab can go no further. Strongly recommended - you will get used to the turns to get to the riad quickly but it would be hard to find on your first arrival without the escort. Our room was on the first floor with covered windows looking out into the courtyard/dining area. This gives you privacy - rooms on the ground floor are a little more exposed. Rooms are ensuite and air conditioned - much needed in the week we stayed when temperatures were 36 degrees c in the afternoon. There is a mosque nearby so inevitably you will hear the early morning call to prayer. The staff were incredibly helpful with support - for example with a restaurant booking where the restaurant didn't open until 6.30pm and we weren't available to phone. We had issues with our collection point for a trip to the Atlas and the manager came with us, waited and phoned several times when the bus didn't arrive when it was supposed to. We had advice on how to find things not in our guide. Breakfast portions are generous and the only time we asked for a lunch a good salad appeared. We also had an escort to our pre-booked cab back to the airport in the morning. There is a private hammam so we could go as a couple - well worth it at the end of a day, though it does need to be pre-booked on the morning of your intended use. So all in all a great stay and a place I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to stay in.

A superb stay at the Road Sapphire. Special mention to Chris who was an incredible host. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for him! They fixed my mother in laws uncomfortable trainers and sourced me safety pins for a flappy dress. Amazing service all round!

Abdo and his staff were amazing. They greet you at the taxi stand and walk you 4 minutes through the maze to the Riad. It was so authentic though. The Riad is beautiful and well maintained. They treat you to tea and cake upon arrival. The meals were delicious. The Hammam Bath is not to be missed. I have no complaints.

An excellent riad, calm and quiet, in a great location. Abdo and Driis who run it are both very helpful, with well organised airport transfers, directions around Marrakech etc. The riad is absolutely clean throughout, very well cared for by them and the other staff. We had the delicious breakfast on the roof space/terrace where you can also relax in the shade with a cold drink. The hour massage in the spa room was excellent.
