The Risboro Hotel

Room had not been cleaned, dirty towel on floor in middle of the room and the bed vallance was all stained, 1 night we were told we had to have dinner in function room singer was that loud while we eating, because of my hearing aids I had to cover my ears, artist came and told me I was rude covering my ears when an artist was singing, while we were eating I would have expected maybe quiet background music not a singer screeching, another night we didn't know what we were doing as there was artist on again, a guest told us dinner was again in the function room, couldn't put up with that again so the 4 of us went out of the hotel to eat, 1 morning they ran out of eggs, beans, so we were given 1 sausage, 1 piece of bacon and a dash of tomato juice, the manager had gone to Sainsburys and fetched eggs but we were told there wouldn't be scrambled eggs that day, why not as it is easy to make if you have eggs, unless of course they were using powdered egg, we were a party of 6, 2 of them went home a day early, we stayed. 4 of the party had been to hotel and said they had not seen it so run down, it was the first time 2 of had been so none of us will be returning

This hotel is absolutely awful. Stay clear. It’s dirty, dated, smells. The beds are lumpy with old fashioned bedding on them. The bathroom was disgusting, the flooring was worn out and all stained, the shower curtain had blood on it and the sink was that old and chipped. The radiators were all rusty and the paper was peeling off the ceiling. The walls were dirty. God knows how this hotel has even passed health & safety standards. From the pictures they show you when you book you think you are getting a bargain and you’re so not. Stay well clear. I wouldn’t even give this a 1 star.

First of all this is a 'Budget hotel' and it doesn't profess to be anything else. I paid £70 (seventy pounds) for two nights B&B in Llandudno. It was more than adequate, yes it's a bit run down, the carpets threadbare in places, the floorboards creek, the walls are paper thin and the shower can't make up it's mind whether to run hot or cold (mainly cold, but does warm up after about 10-15 mins). It has a 5 (five) star rating for cleanliness and the breakfast choice was very good and was good. Yes it's run down and needs revamping , BUT (and it's a big BUT) £70 for two nights B&B in Llandudno is incredible. It's probably NOT the place for a romantic weekend but, for a cheap weekend away it can't be beaten. I shall definitely staying there again and again. It has free entertainment in the evenings in the basement so cannot be heard from the second floor where my room was, it has a lift and is dog friendly.

If you’re looking for a clean, basic and reasonably priced room in Llandudno, look no further. Staff are absolutely lovely. Beds very comfy. Breakfast was sublime. The only gripe we had was that the tv was the size of a postage stamp, but you don’t come to Llandudno to watch tv, it’s just cause me mum wanted to watch Scott and Bailey. Saturdays entertainment was cut short when the singer did a dog in the fog with the speakers, however Sunday night came around and I was slipping and sliding and grooving all over that dance floor. What a night. Can’t wait to return.

Booked last minute through booking .com after mix up with usual hotel. No time to check reviews thought £108 for night was reasonable. How wrong could I have been? I would not stay here again if it was free! Worst hotel room I’ve ever been in (wife still not speaking to me). I understand it’s a budget hotel, I understand times are hard, but if a room is not fit for purpose it should not be used or at least reflected in the price. There should be a view of the great orme from the bedroom window but the glass was so dirty you could barely see it! Carpet was stained and frayed, bulbs missing from fittings and the shower just dribbled out either red hot or freezing cold. Musty smelling, dusty and mouldy. To say this hotel needs refreshing is an understatement it needs closing and totally refurbishing. Staff are friendly, food was ok, there was even entertainment. However non of this makes up for the condition of the hotel.

Another great weekend at the Risboro. This hotel is the best value for money around. Its very underated. The entertainment is 2nd to none. The food was fabulous and nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful staff. We'll be back in May. Can't wait!

Absolutely the worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in , all the decor terrible , wallpaper falling off the walls , room was freezing 🥶 the showers were vile , mouldy , water trickled out of the showers. Skin was itchy and uncomfortable 😣 brown marks on towels , room not clean. That bad I left early and to top it off I poured milk on my weetabix in the morning and put a big spoon in my mouth and the milk was Sour 😩👊🏼 honestly need to close this dive 🤬

The entertainment at this hotel is fantastic. That is where the compliments end. I’ve travelled the world and stayed in a lot of places but this is by far the worst I’ve experienced! I will always write a positive review when a place deserves one but sadly I’m here to warn others DO NOT BOOK! This hotel needs a complete makeover- it seems nothing has been altered since the 70s! Shoddy decor, awful damp smell in the room, condensation on the windows, a bed on wheels, metal bits sticking out of the wall, silver fish in the bath, a tiny tv that didn’t work at all, a soaking wet cloth on the tea tray, all of the coffees/teas/sugars stuck together as if they’d not been replaced in months, peeling wallpaper…the list is endless! At dinner we were served tasteless food including lukewarm, dry chicken, dry chocolate cake (I spat it out it was so bad!) and out of date cheese! Disgusting! I’m probably forgetting numerous other things but I’m including photos as proof! So sad as I’m sure this place was once a wonderful hotel but it seems ZERO care has gone in to it in a long time! I’d be so embarrassed if I worked here! Such a shame!
