UUsuario invitadoEl edificio antiguo con un techo alto, mobiliario moderno y una ubicación increíble en medio de la antigua Krakow sólo nos sirvió para una noche, pero con emociones inolvidables. Muchas gracias a la recepcionista Sra. Barbara . Ayudó a resolver mis problemas con una reserva y a comprar entradas para el próximo viaje .

UUsuario invitadoUn poco alejado de la ciudad pero es un buen hotel. El servicio fue excelente, teníamos una habitación ejecutiva y el salón ejecutivo era excelente para desayunar y tomar una copa por la noche antes de dirigirnos a la ciudad. Realmente recomendaría este hotel siempre y cuando no te importe caminar o enviar mensajes de texto a la ciudad.

UUsuario anónimoThe hotel is clean and comfy, perfectly warm for the freezing temperatures outside. Situated right next to Kraków Grzegórzki train station, it was easy to get to/from the airport and to other places via the train as it connects to the Kraków Główny main station.
Staff were helpful, explained where we can go around Kraków. We were given plenty of clean towels, room cleaning service daily. Hair dryer was also provided, with a drinking water dispenser right outside the lift.
Only thing would be the shower as it sometimes pulses between slightly hotter and colder water. Was pleasantly surprised when it’s got heated flooring in the shower though!

UUsuario invitadoEl Mercure Krakow Stare Miasto me impresionó al instante con el hermoso, moderno y alegre diseño de su vestíbulo, realzado por una réplica del vestido de la reina Bárbara (esposa del rey Segismundo Augusto), con una placa que narra su historia. El servicio fue otro punto a destacar: el personal de recepción fue amable y atento (uno incluso me saludó en tailandés), y se ofrecieron aperitivos caseros tanto al momento del check-in como al de check-out. La ubicación es magnífica, justo enfrente de la Galeria Krakowska, un enorme centro comercial con todo tipo de artículos, desde marcas de lujo hasta supermercados, restaurantes y una zona de restauración. También está a un corto paseo de la Plaza del Mercado, las principales calles comerciales y el Museo Czartoryski, donde se encuentra La dama del armiño de Leonardo da Vinci. El Castillo de Wawel y el barrio de Kazimierz están un poco más lejos, pero se pueden recorrer a pie con calzado cómodo. Mi habitación estaba limpia y era cómoda, aunque un poco sencilla, y el baño era un poco pequeño. El desayuno fue el único punto débil: la selección de comida era escasa, y en horas punta el comedor se sentía apretado, a veces dejando solo mesas en la barra (recomiendo ir más tarde, cuando haya pasado la hora punta). Aun así, son pequeñas objeciones. Con su acogedor vestíbulo, su servicio cálido y atento, y su inmejorable ubicación, este hotel es sin duda recomendable.

UUsuario invitadoI really liked the Columbus Hotel. It's just a few minutes' walk from Grzegorzki train station, which is the next stop after the main station Rynek, coming from the airport. I was in a twin room with a balcony, bathtub, fridge, complimentary water, toiletries. Lovely, bright and clean, comfy beds and nice bedding. Breakfast was delicious. The scrambled egg and little sausages were so tasty. The cakes were lovely with coffee afterwards. Also cereal, meats, cheese, fruit, yoghurt and breads and juices. Lovely and quiet, never heard a sound from other guests in their rooms. A real calm and relaxed vibe. There's also an outdoor seating area and a shop across the road. The tram stops are just to the side and are so easy and frequent. Ticket machines are at the stop, or you can pay on board. Don't forget to validate your ticket. Great base for exploring the Jewish quarter and ghetto, Schindler Factory Museum and don't miss the Plaszow guided tour, a highlight so far. Tram 3 and 24 takes you there from outside hotel and coats 4 zlotys. They are in the process of building a museum there, so it's going to be much busier in the future. Go now while its not as well known. I would definitely return to Columbus hotel, an excellent choice, enjoy!

*Lovely spacious rooms with nicely refurbished bathrooms.
*The breakfast area looks presentable with a fairly decent selection.
*Bottled water is provided daily, you just have to make sure you hang the sign to request to clean the room.
*Hotel is centrally located right by the square. It’s near grocery stores, restaurants, donut/pastry shops & souvenir shops.
CONS
*The carpets “looked” dirty & old, not very pleasing to look at but they’re not - just gives that impression!
*The main downside for me is the noise. Our room was facing the front which is where pedestrians walk through to the square. Earplugs were supplied by Hotel but they didn’t make a difference. There were loud revellers until 4:30am daily, then once that ends, the delivery trucks & refuse collectors pass through which were just as loud! Needless to say I didn’t get a full night sleep for 4 nights.
Overall, it’s a clean & very reasonably priced hotel. May I also add we are a group that booked 4 rooms. 2 rooms were in the quiet side but the other 2 were in the noisy part. Not all rooms are the same. However, if you can sleep through anything then this wouldn’t be as much of an issue as it was for me.

In terms of positives, the rooms are pretty good. The pool/ sauna are good. I've been to hotels with pools more like paddling pools, but this one you could actually swim lengths in. It was busy around the evening (5-8), but dead in the morning which meant I could have a nice relaxing swim. Reception were nice and helpful. Breakfast was decent enough, though a bit expensive in my opinion. The big downside for a visitor to Krakow is the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Around 20 minutes in a taxi to the centre. There's a bus stop outside the hotel, but the only buses which stop there don't go to the centre meaning a connection is needed. Nearest small supermarket around a 7/8 minute walk and there's a big shopping mall 15 minutes by foot. I stayed for work so was happy enough. First time visitors to the city would be better off getting something closer/ better connected to the centre.

UUsuario invitadoLet's start with address; difficult to find even people living there could not find it easily. The entrance is disguised by some lady selling various objects.(see photo)
You have to be mind reader to find your room and bed as receptionist doesn't move her ass to show, instead mentions the wrong door with a punch code(it is obvious that it happened before as the code is still on the punch pad). The correct pad is actually on the handle of the next door that you need magnifier to find it ,if it is your first time. Then writes down 1/1/1/ which is supposed to be 1st door,1st bed and 1st locker.
Skip this hostel if you are light and early sleeper as the tram line passes next door and it turns is quite curvy so the nise is quite annoying and happenes periodically. There is also noise from wooden floor and bed brames each time you move, Basically you have tiptoe to in order to make less noise. However, the major drawback is the bathroom cailities rather the lack of it only one bathroom for so many guests. I had to wait more than one hour and eventually gave up.
On the plus side, it has great location only few minutes to the old town centre. It also is quite clean.
For the price you pay which is about half the average hotel, next time I would definitely stay in a hotel. It is your choice.
