MMike MnshStaying at Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street was a highlight of our trip to Nagasaki. The hotel is beautifully designed with a distinct British colonial character that fits perfectly into the historic Glover Garden neighbourhood — stepping outside, you’re just moments from Oura Cathedral and some of Nagasaki’s most iconic sights. The rooms are immaculate, stylishly appointed, and the bathrobes were a lovely touch after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast at Restaurant Cathedréclat — set inside what feels like a converted chapel — was a real experience in itself, with a tasty Japanese option that was genuinely delicious. The staff deserve a special mention: attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. Service was flawless from check-in to check-out. The only minor thing I’d flag — and it really is minor — is that the pillows are on the thin and soft side, which might not suit everyone who prefers a bit more support. A firmer pillow option would make this hotel absolutely perfect.

TTatiana VybornovaThe location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic! It’s on a quiet pedestrian street just two minutes from Chinatown, and there are tons of great restaurants and cafes nearby. Staff is very supportive. The only downside? The elevators are slow - be prepared to wait a while.

HHoshI had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything about this hotel just worked. The room was clean, spacious and properly laid out. And the amenities were fantastic. From the natural hot spring to the massage chairs to the free refreshments and free evening (small) ramen. There is a shopping mall across the road (AMU Plaza) and also a tram stop a stone throw away. The breakfast was good but nothing to write about. And if that’s not close enough, there is a 7-Eleven next door (and connected to the hotel).

EEnrique MoyaA 17 minutos a pie de la estación de tren de Hakata JR. Enfrente al río Naka muy tranquilo. Entrada a la construcción y a la habitación se realiza siguiendo las instrucciones de correo electrónico y el código QR y es fácil. La habitación es limpia, todo en su lugar. Las camas y las cucharas son cómodas y limpias. Todo funciona, incluyendo la mesa de hierro con hierro, secador de pelo, todas las instalaciones de cocina y televisión (canales locales). El río que nos despertamos a los cielos azules y la tranquilidad que mira hacia arriba es hermosa para experimentar. Un muy agradable estancia. PS: sólo una cuestión - durante la noche, hubo una campana periódica de la puerta «din-dong» que despertó 3 veces. No era nuestra habitación, yo salía a la puerta pero no pude identificar el origen. Soy un dormitorio ligero, pero el resto de la familia se quedó dormido a través de ella.

DDr.p3pp3rThis hostel has some genuinely strong points, but also several issues that stop it from being a great stay. It’s very much a mix of highs and lows. The positives: The common room is comfortable, with very good sofas and fast Wi-Fi (though it occasionally drops out — a router upgrade would easily fix this). There’s a shared kitchen with a labelled fridge, and the location is excellent for exploring Nagasaki. Dorm rooms are good value for the price. Bed spaces are a decent size, with excellent blackout curtains that block light even if others leave the lights on. You also get a small lockbox for valuables. The negatives: Check-in is fully self-service with no reception. You’re given a folder with rules and keys, but if you need help, there’s no clear support — which can be stressful, especially for travellers without phone SIMs. There is no lift. I stayed on the fourth floor, and the narrow stairs make carrying luggage difficult. Facilities per floor are also limited: only one toilet and one shower shared between multiple dorms, plus the washer and dryer on the same floor, which feels insufficient and awkward. Extras are all paid separately (towels, toothbrushes, earplugs, etc.). A towel really should be included at this price. Guests are also expected to strip their own bedsheets at checkout, which feels excessive. The common room layout could be improved. A large hammock takes up space and reduces seating — replacing it with chairs or bar seating would make the area far more usable. There were also staff or long-term workers frequently occupying the common room, which made the space feel less guest-focused. Air conditioning is locked and cannot be adjusted, so if you’re too hot or cold, you have no control. Would I stay again? As a backpacker on a very tight budget, yes — tahe location and price make it workable. But if you can afford it, I’d recommend paying more for a private room nearby. There are many hotels in the area offering much better comfort and support.

SSora ChaI booked a corner room to enjoy the Nagasaki city view, and it was absolutely stunning—honestly the highlight of my stay. The staff were very friendly, and there were team members who specifically assisted international guests and spoke excellent English. If you’re looking for a place to relax, enjoy a panoramic view of Nagasaki, and soak in an onsen, this is definitely the hotel to stay at.

OOlga TarNo esperaba nada de quedarme en este hotel, ya que era dos veces más barato que cualquier cosa en la zona. La ubicación es perfecta para explorar Nagasaki, en el corazón de Chinatown, muchas comerías en la zona, y un tranvía cerca. El hotel tiene una vibración retro y no parece un hotel tradicional, pero ¿necesita? Grandes camas cómodas, grandes habitaciones (mucho más espaciosas de lo que esperas encontrar en Japón), todas las comodidades que necesitas dentro. La descripción no mencionó un refrigerador, pero teníamos uno en nuestra habitación. Buen desayuno a un precio razonable. El único problema es que no tienen un lavadero de monedas en el hotel, pero hay algunos en la zona. En mi opinión, es más que valor por dinero!

SShin-Woei FannThis is an old hotel located a liitle up slope and few blocks away from the train station. The television in the room even has a dyscryptor on it. The decoration in the hotel is unique with old style fashion. I would say I've got a good experience of living in such historical hotel.
