VVijayakumar G AFirstly, I was given a room in an extension block that seemed to have been built recently. It was modern but lacked the charm and character of a true heritage property. The main building, with its fireplace and historic ambience, was nowhere to be found. This was especially disappointing considering the premium price I paid, comparable to what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel.
The lack of attention to detail continued throughout my stay. When I checked in on a rainy day, I had to walk to the extension block without an umbrella despite the muddy road. The staff seemed unbothered by this inconvenience. Additionally, the room didn't have slippers, and the floor was cold, with no heating available (although they did provide a basic room heater when requested).
To make matters worse, I had to call the front desk to confirm my room for the second day, which should have been done automatically as part of their standard procedure. This lack of efficiency only added to my frustration.
The toiletries were also woefully inadequate, with only basic soap and shampoo provided. Power cuts were frequent, and I had to notify the front desk each time, which seemed like a hassle the hotel should have anticipated.
The breakfast buffet was uninspiring and lacked flavour. To make matters worse, I had dinner at their restaurant, which was rated top in Ooty, but my experience was average at best. To add insult to injury, they got our order wrong, substituting Nasi Goreng (fried rice) with Mee Goreng (fried noodles). When I brought this to their attention, they made no effort to compensate for the mistake.
In conclusion, Hotel King's Cliff fails to live up to its reputation as a heritage property or even a 2-star hotel. The overpricing and lack of attention to detail make it a poor choice for travellers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Ooty.

Not so good - the 2 bedroom suite had just one bathroom and the suits are in the middle of reception. No privacy in that sense.

We had booked the hotel for 4 nights, but due to an unexpected emergency, we had to check out one night early. Unfortunately, the hotel management did not provide any refund for the unused night, which amounted to approximately RMB 1,500 (around ₹20,000).
What disappointed me most was the management’s attitude regarding the cancellation request. I also submitted refund requests through Trip.com twice, but both were rejected.

No intercom nor any chairs to sit inside. But we setup a place right outside the room.
You have to phone the front desk for everything. Good parking and open spaces to play. Good was ok. Not bad. The receptionist guy was a bit grumpy.
Apart from that nice chill place .!!

UUsuario invitadoOrchid Square has given us lovely memories of Coonoor. It was comfortable, clean and the food was excellent. However it was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff that really helped to make our experience here a very good one. The restaurant staff in particular showed good humour. The hotel helped with transport. The wifi connection was good. It was peaceful and our room was spacious with lots of extras like tea/coffee, shampoo/ hairdryer.
The only downside was the distance into town, needing a tut-tut, about 10-15mins travel time. However, we had peace and quiet.

El único con es el tamaño de la habitación es demasiado pequeño y lo quiero decir. Es tan pequeño si mantiene tu equipaje en el piso no podrás caminar correctamente. UUsuario invitadoThe stay ar the welcome heritage fernhills palace ooty was excellent. Right from the welcome to the rooms to the service everything was top notch. I would like to add that make my trip never disappoints. However i just have one concern regarding the car and the driver. The driver otherwise was extreme cooperative but did not understand tamil or english and was comfortable only with malayalam. Overall it was a very nice experience, apart from the car and the driver.
