A French Quarter Gem – Simply Unforgettable! I recently stayed at Palais de Mahe, and it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The location is unbeatable—nestled right in the heart of the French Quarter and just steps away from the beach. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and perfectly maintained, but what really sets this hotel apart is the staff. They are hands-down the best I’ve encountered—attentive, warm, and professional. Pro Tip: You must try the tea here. My unexpected highlight was sitting by the pool in the afternoon, sipping tea and soaking in the atmosphere. The food throughout my stay was also incredible. I can’t recommend this place enough!

El personal fue muy amable y atento a todas nuestras necesidades, organizando taxis, excursiones, tratamientos ayurvédicos y actividades gratuitas, incluyendo la del chef. It is about 13–14 km away, and the hotel charges USD 20 each way, USD 20 to go and USD 20 to return. So, if someone wants to visit Pont du Chery, the hotel is extremely far. Moreover, there is nothing around the hotel at all—zero, a desert. It is suitable only for those who want to stay isolated from the city and close to the beach (about 500 meters away). Un encantador oasis de tranquilidad, un hotel boutique en el corazón de la Ciudad Blanca. Nos alojamos dos noches. La primera noche cenamos en el restaurante; la comida y el ambiente fueron excelentes. También cenamos dos veces en su restaurante hermano, ”La Villa”, que ofrecía un menú degustación de siete platos excelente y con una gran relación calidad-precio. Además, están asociados con el bar/restaurante ”The Spot”, que disfrutamos mucho visitando durante el día para tomar algo y comer en un bonito patio. El desayuno en Villa Shanti también fue bueno y el personal fue muy amable y atento. Nuestra habitación era encantadora y cómoda. Creemos que la terraza de la azotea podría haber sido un lugar más atractivo para sentarse al aire libre, ya que era bastante básica y parecía un poco descuidada, pero por lo demás, nos pareció un lugar estupendo para alojarse.

The owner was kind. The breakfast was the best thing about this place. Homemade food was superb. The south indian breakfast was really great. I have no idea why other guests were requesting western style food. Room was okay. It was neat, but felt a bit dim. One downside was that there were noticeable numbers of mosquitoes.

The hotel is nestled in the French town part of Pondicherry which is within walking distance to the promenade and the numerous cafés and restraints scattered around. The staff are cordial, the place neat and spacious. The hotel does neither have a parking no area for cars nor facility for drivers. Overall an enjoyable stay.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Aura, true to its name, the aura of the place was really good. Friendly staff, and the service was excellent. The location is very decent, with all the amenities nearby, all the tourist places are less than 5 mins from this place. The hotel people also helped us to hire a scooter, which was much more convenient to roam around compared to a car. The restaurant food was tasty. Our overall stay was excellent, safe and satisfying..
