Nos alojamos en este encantador hotel durante cuatro noches a principios de junio de 2025. El personal fue tan amable, atento y servicial que nos sentimos como en casa desde el primer momento. Todo fue perfecto para nosotros: la gente, la habitación, la ubicación y XiaoMi, el perrito anfitrión. Está en el centro de Laomendong, con fácil acceso a todo lo que ofrece. Además, está apartado del bullicio gracias a la zona cerrada. Sin duda, volvería a alojarme aquí y lo recomendaría a otros viajeros.

I booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations. We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby. We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed. Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel. This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance. We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again. Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed. When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet. Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

I was initially asked by the hotel to leave a five-star review, but after my full stay I can’t do so in good conscience, and I have since adjusted my rating based on the second half of my booking. This was a two-part stay (two separate bookings of five days each), and while there are genuinely strong positives, the overall experience was significantly affected by ongoing service and cleanliness issues. There are still clear strengths to highlight. The location is excellent—quiet, safe, and surrounded by good restaurants, convenience stores, and a pleasant park nearby. The rooms are also very well designed: spacious, comfortable, and equipped with useful amenities such as a washing machine. The layout and overall setup make it a very livable space. The staff were, for the most part, kind and helpful. One staff member in particular was consistently warm and welcoming. When issues were raised, the team did attempt to respond professionally, and I do appreciate that some solutions were offered, including a discounted rate for a future stay. However, there were repeated concerns that affected my experience, particularly during the second half of my stay. Cleanliness remained a consistent issue. Even after rooms were serviced, dust accumulated very quickly—so much so that items like my laptop would be visibly covered overnight. This raises concerns about the overall level of cleanliness and ventilation. In addition, housekeeping services felt inconsistent. On multiple occasions I had to specifically request basic essentials such as bottled water and fresh towels, rather than these being proactively restocked daily as would normally be expected in this type of accommodation. Service consistency also varied. Some days staff would check in or ask whether I needed room cleaning, while on other days there was no such follow-up at all. This lack of routine made the experience feel unpredictable for a stay of this length. There were also concerns regarding pricing and communication during an attempted extension of my stay. I had initially paid approximately 268 rand per night (already at a discounted rate). When I asked to extend for one additional night during the May Day holiday period, I was quoted around 800 rand. While I understand that rates fluctuate during peak demand, this felt inconsistent given the earlier discount offered due to the significant issues experienced in the first rooms. The handling of this request also felt quite rigid initially, although the pricing discussion changed once I indicated I would be leaving a review. By that point, however, I had already made alternative arrangements in another city. I also noticed a change in overall tone and attentiveness from staff following my initial complaints, particularly on the day I was trying to extend my stay. In that instance, even basic housekeeping services were not offered, which contributed to a feeling of inconsistency in service. Ultimately, I think this hotel has strong potential. The location, room design, and general setup are genuinely excellent, and there are staff members who are clearly committed and welcoming. However, the inconsistency in cleanliness standards, basic housekeeping expectations, and service delivery means I cannot recommend it as a reliably high-quality stay at this stage. With more consistent attention to cleanliness and service fundamentals, this could be an excellent hotel experience—but in its current state, it falls short of that standard.

Este hotel es realmente bueno para familias. Te llaman antes del check-in para ver si necesitas algo. Luego te agregan a WeChat y te envían mensajes con las actividades diarias. Incluso decoraron la habitación para el cumpleaños y nos trajeron un pastel. El servicio del mayordomo fue muy atento y nos hicieron un upgrade de habitación. El hotel ofrece muchas actividades, especialmente por la noche. Los niños se lo pasaron genial. En general, es un hotel excelente.

Sigo con el mismo comentario: si proporcionan pantuflas y toalla para la zona húmeda, sería perfecto... Solo una pequeña sugerencia: espero que el hotel priorice la limpieza, especialmente la de la habitación y el baño. Hoy, el operador me ofreció salida tardía hasta la 1 p. m. ¡Qué calor, mientras regreso a toda prisa de la escuela! ¡Mantengan esa actitud cálida! Lo agradezco sinceramente y nos vemos la próxima vez si es posible.

¡Recomiendo sinceramente este hostal, la experiencia de mi estancia fue excelente! El lugar está impecable y ordenado, lo que hace que la estancia sea cómoda y relajante. En la planta baja hay un bar chill-out con un ambiente perfecto. Las actividades recreativas diarias son variadas y abundantes; por las noches, a menudo organizan juegos de mesa y proyecciones de películas, lo que lo hace animado y divertido. Si no tienes nada que hacer, incluso puedes echar una partida de mahjong para pasar el rato, ¡es perfecto para el tiempo libre durante el viaje! El ambiente del hostal es relajado y animado, por lo que es fácil conocer a viajeros de todas partes y no te sentirás solo. Tranquilo y tranquilo, dormí de maravilla. El hotel tiene una ubicación excelente y fácil acceso al transporte; está a solo unos minutos a pie de la estación de metro Xinjiekou. Las instalaciones del hotel son completas, la habitación está limpia y ordenada, y tuve una estancia muy cómoda. El personal de recepción fue muy servicial. Incluso tienen un robot de reparto de comida. Personalmente, creo que tiene una buena relación calidad-precio.
