We had a great stay at Kindness Day Hotel. The staff were very kind, and the private underground parking was a plus. We loved the free evening snacks, ice cream, and drink at the bar — a nice touch if you don’t want to stay in your room. Breakfast had plenty of options, and everything was well organized despite the crowds. The relaxed vibe and late check-out made it even better. Highly recommend for a stay in Tainan — would definitely book again!

Important: Please bring ear plugs! the sound from street traffic is kind of echoey and loud. I went to buy some after my first night. Location is hard to beat. I got to try quite a few good eateries just by staying here. And there are street markets of different types within short walking distance. I was staying in a room on 2nd level and using the shared bathroom, but it looked like i was the the only one using it. Everything is clean and spotless, as if the place is very new. The hot/cold water dispenser at ground level is very useful. More hooks/hangers in the room for hanging clothes would be nice. The light feature above the bed and the full-length glass windows that allow natural light are very aesthetically pleasing. What was perhaps unusual and a bit unnerving - a first for me - was that i didn't see ANY person around the whole of my 4-day stay. I arrived late and had to do a self check-in on the first day so that was to be expected, but on subsequent days no staff were at reception, nor did i see any guests (though i could faintly hear them in their rooms on certain days). Is this a low season thing? Having said that, i found the self-check in and check-out is quite convenient and if you have connected with them over Whatsapp, they send clear instructions beforehand. They will also answer any questions over Whataspp, so i guess it's like a virtual receptionist?

Had a pleasant time in this hotel. Provided snacks and drinks daily. The male staff that was at the reception at night was very helpful in helping us call local shops and finding things. The breakfast was also delicious! Would return next time!

Highly Recommended! Great location - just 650m from Tainan Train Station and 550m from Chihkan Tower. There are convenience stores and eateries nearby. Papo'a has good facilities for a hotel of its class - luggage storage; elevator, and water dispensers (with hot and cold water) on every floor. On 3 levels there are coin-operated washing machines and dryers, but the dryers take at least an hour to dry cotton t-shirts and jeans. There's a coffee machine in the lobby where we can get free drinks eg Cappuccino, mocha, and hot chocolate. There are nice local pastries in the lobby too. Our quadruple room was very spacious, and so was the bathroom. The bathroom has a shower stall, bath gel is provided but not hand soap at the sink, so we took the bath gel bottle to the sink whenever we needed to wash our hands. There's a frosted glass window on the bathroom door, through which you can see the blurry figure of the person inside. We were travelling with family so it was alright, but it may not be very comfortable if you're traveling with friends. All towels and bed linens were clean. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great stay!

The hotel is old and it shows. There are many pools in the onsen area and guests are required to wear swimsuits and swimming caps. The rooms look like they have to renovated but all public area and pools are aged and cleanliness can be improved. The selection at breakfast is basic but it is fair for what we were charged. The receptionists at the front desk are very nice and helpful.
