Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Only downside is that they do not emergency power which complicated our stay. Breakfast very good and hotel is centrally located. Rooms nice and big & well furnished, bed a bit soft.

A good place to spend the night, if not for an extended stay. Property is very safe and has clean, well equipped rooms. Breakfast was also very good. Location is perhaps not the best and not perhaps somewhere you'd want to walk to after dark but other than that, this ticks a lot of boxes and does what you would expect. Solid three star hotel.

Ideal for a family holiday. Good service with staff ready to go an extra mile to make stay memorable. Hotel environment integrates well with the overall environment of the town- welcoming and tranquil. Overall, the service is true value for money.

The location is good the beds are poor, no DSTV and their breakfast is horrible. Generally a disappointing acommodation for the money we paid. I'm definitely choosing a different hotel if I come back.

Only downside is Loadshedding, great service and friendly staff. Food was good as well, as it was value for money. Location was not hard to find and parking was inside the yard- will likely stay again

The service was great we arrived late. The host waited for us and made sure we were on our rooms before living. Breakfast was nice we had variety of options to choose from. Location is easy to find 1min from the main road.

Hotel was in a great location. The parking was secure. Our rooms were quiet and did not hear any other guests even thought there was a school rugby tour also staying. Some contents like crockery in the room need an updating, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money and good breakfasts served.

Disliked · Regrettably we had to cancel two nights “last minute” This was due to the level 9 storm raging through the Western Cape ,leaving many road closures. We were cycling and were unable to pass through the Prince Alfred pass. Understandably the Russel Hotel acted upon cancellation policies. We found that given the severity of the storm which was quite evident that the hotel could of at the very least given us one night back as a show of “good will”. Unfortunately they have lost our future business and recommendations.
