Mi habitación a primera vista era bonita. Cuando regresé más tarde para quedarme, noté que había comida en el refrigerador del último huésped. My first stay was below average yet I stayed here again a few weeks later. The front desk staff were fine. The room, though, was not so fine. Couldn't turn off the lamp built into the top of the wardrobe, so had to pull it away from the wall and unplug it. The TV had no channels available, had to reset and do a channel search. So far, just 1st world issues. The next morning I discovered that there was NO soap or body wash, just shampoo. Plus, you could not change the flow of water from tub to shower, the pull valve was stuck. That was a fun time. Eventually got the valve to open part way so I could wash and rinse slowly. Then at breakfast they were out of coffee, eggs, oatmeal, and raisin bran although they did have the healthy and nutritious Froot Loops in stock. It turns out that the construction crew working on the hotel renovation (did I mention they were undergoing renovation?) had been invited to eat and cleaned out the breakfast area. I think I have finally learned my lesson.

The front desk staff was really nice and provided great service. The hotel rooms themselves are just horribly designed, small, and did not work for three people in a room. I've never stayed in a Tru before so the design was a shock. They need to focus more on proper cleaning. The beds are NOT queens and there is no closet. You're expected to hang clothes in the open above the mini-fridge and store luggage under the bed or on a stand that is taking up valuable living space. This means, each time you want something that isn't hung, you're crawling under the bed and/or moving luggage in/out of the ”storage” areas. The room was poorly cleaned. There were food crumbs under the bed the day we checked in. Walking across the floor resulted in dirt on our socks or feet. There was no housekeeping during our multi-day stay so we called for towels everyday and had to sit the garbage outside in the hall. Greenville has brown water so daily cleaning is a must to avoid brown stains in the shower and sink. You would think they would want to be proactive to reduce long-term issues. Bring shower shoes... Breakfast was basic...same pancakes, protein, eggs, and assortment of bread/muffins (that didn't look fresh). Due to the small room size, we ate our takeout in the lobby. My teens loved the pool table but didn't get many opportunities to use it due to the grown men always drinking and hanging out there. There was an issue with double billing me and charging a made-up rate but the manager quickly corrected it. Greenville doesn't have many options so I guess that's how they get away with charging $200/night.
