We stayed at the Atlas Saiss for two nights, and we have mixed reviews. The good: The front desk staff were super sweet and eager to help. The hotel on first glance had a nice appearance to it on the inside. The lobby was clean and spacious, and the restaurant and common areas were kept clean--something that wasn't always the case at some of the other hotels we stayed at on our tour. The rooms looked large, and the bedroom area was clean and well-kept. We also had a nice balcony, and an in-room safe that was actually screwed down! The bad: There was no air conditioning in the restaurant, and our bedroom's air conditioning wasn't very good either. It became as hot as Hades in the restaurant when we ate dinner., and we had to leave our balcony door open a good portion of the night to let some air in. Unfortunately the noise from the road made us have to close the door so that we could sleep; but because it was warm, sleep wasn't wonderful. The temperature of the water in our shower was very finicky and only on occasion warmed up to a comfortable temperature. The shower walls in our room were coated in a wallpaper that had what felt like mushy cork-board behind it. It was from a poorly done renovation and that wall was completely sodden and riddled in mold. The selection of food for breakfast and dinner was not as plentiful as what was served to us at other 4 star hotels, and the quality of the food was inconsistent--some dishes were delicious, and some dishes were frankly gross. If I had to visit Fez again, I may or may not stay here again, but I certainly would choose to eat elsewhere.
