Al llegar, fuimos recibidos calurosamente por el Sr. Rodel, que nos ayudó con nuestro equipaje. Fue extremadamente amable y servicial, y nos hizo sentir bienvenidos desde el principio.
Sin embargo, nuestra experiencia en la recepción durante el check-in fue extremadamente decepcionante. Cuando nos acercamos al Sr. Abdelrahman en la recepción, nos pidió nuestros documentos de identidad. Le proporcioné mi documento de identidad de los Emiratos, ya que la habitación estaba reservada a mi nombre. Desafortunadamente, mi hermana había olvidado su documento de identidad físico y preguntó si una copia electrónica sería suficiente. Inmediatamente dijo: ”No”. Ella explicó que había olvidado su documento de identidad y le pregunté qué debíamos hacer, ya que habíamos viajado desde Abu Dhabi. Le pregunté si me aceptarían a mí pero no a mi hermana, ¿qué sentido tendría? Su respuesta fue una vez más firme: ”No, necesitamos un documento de identidad físico. No podemos hacer nada al respecto”.
A pesar de nuestros esfuerzos por explicarle la situación, se mantuvo inflexible e insistió en que solo me aceptarían a mí y no a mi hermana. Estaba muy frustrada y decepcionada, así que pedí hablar con el gerente. Abdelrahman continuó con el proceso de check-in sin más compromiso. Cuando llegó el gerente, me explicó que, si bien el protocolo exige documentos de identidad físicos, esta vez harían una excepción. Mi hermana reconoció que fue su error no traer su documento de identidad físico, pero la forma en que Abdelrahman manejó la situación estuvo lejos de ser satisfactoria. Sus reiteradas negativas, sin ofrecer ninguna solución alternativa, fueron decepcionantes, especialmente considerando que se trata de un hotel de 5 estrellas. Un servicio al cliente adecuado, en particular en la industria hotelera, implica más que simplemente decir ”No”. Requiere comprensión, empatía y la voluntad de ayudar a los huéspedes lo mejor que se pueda.
Después del check-in, nos asistió el Sr. Choi, quien nos ayudó con nuestras maletas y nos acompañó a nuestra habitación. Su profesionalismo y comportamiento cortés contrastaron completamente con nuestra experiencia anterior. El Sr. Choi, junto con el Sr. Rodel, el Sr. Gaurav y el Sr. Rozaldo, realmente se destacaron durante nuestra estadía. Todos fueron increíblemente serviciales, educados y amables, y merecen un reconocimiento por su excelente servicio al cliente.
En general, nuestra estadía fue agradable, pero la experiencia del check-in dejó una impresión negativa. Espero que el personal de recepción reciba más capacitación en atención al cliente, particularmente en términos de empatía y resolución de problemas. Un simple ”No” no es la respuesta a todas las situaciones, especialmente cuando los huéspedes buscan ayuda.
