We stayed at Aura suites for 1 month with my family and we had the best experience. The staff was extremely friendly, rooms were kept very clean daily room service. Overall, we had a great time - I highly recommend anyone visiting Dar es salaam to stay at Aura. The location is very good (close to central town and a supermarket next door) and very safe when visiting with family.

I spent one night in the Chelsea Hotel to do some sightseeing in Dar and it was very good for that purpose. The hotel was a little bit dated, but otherwise completely up to the standards which I expect from a hotel. It's located not far from the clock tower, which to my understanding pinpoints the centerpoint of the city. The actual sights I went to see started further away, about 20 minutes by foot. The room was adequate in size and had good aircon. I had a twin room. I first tried sleeping in the bed further away from the aircon, but the air blew directly there, so I had to move to the bed right under the aircon unit. The hotel was located close to a busy road and the honking of the cars could be heard up to the sixth floor. However it wasn't bad. The breakfast was ok. It didn't have a very wide selection, but the items I tried were tasty and of good quality. Also the setting in the restaurant was pleasant. The only negative I have to say is the extraorbitant exchange rate. I had paid my room rate in advance, but I had to pay the city tax (1.50 USD) at the hotel. I asked to pay in Tsh and had to pay 7000 Tsh, equivalent to about 3$. My loss was only 1.50$, so it wasn't a big deal in my case, but the principle left a bad taste in my mouth. If the room rate would have been 1.50$ higher but the city tax 3500 Tsh, I would have left as a happy customer. The hotel offered airport transfer for 42000 Tsh. It was quite pricy. The fixed price at the official taxi stand at the airport was 30000 Tsh. On the way back to the airport I used a rideshare app to get my transfer, it cost Tsh 12000.

It‘s a fairly new hotel and part of Marriott Bonvoy. I enjoyed to stay there a lot, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet is nice and with various options. The pool has a nice size, however lacking a view. Talking about view, some rooms have nice sea view. Others have pool view but you also see the green landscape which is nice too. The rooms are pretty big, kind of small TV though, but they feel very comfortable and the bed is great too. Also USB and an international power plug at the night stand, which still a lot of other hotels don‘t have. Rooms are cleaned very well. The gym is very basic, only machines for cardio and a few weights. Ate dinner at the restaurant several times and always got good food. There is an area called Slipway just 5 walking minutes away, that also provides great food options and a bit of nightlife.

TTailuoaotemanbiaodidelaobaDebido a que el avión es tarde, la ciudad de llegada se ha ido a la noche, confundido con el hotel, no hay lujo imaginario, pero no es muy elegante. La plataforma está estudiada por la cama doble. La plataforma está llena de hoteles. La planificación de la cama grande + pequeña lol está organizada. Aunque algunos hermanos no son muy extraños, haha ～
El tiempo que pasa para cuidar de la estancia es un poco largo. La habitación es limpia, el agua y el café de cocina deben ser suficientes; ya que la reunión de la noche a la mañana, me levantaré menos de tres horas después de dormir. Todo el desayuno es bueno, tranquilizar a los cansados y es una compensación.
En general, se siente bien, el precio es ligeramente alto, pero la experiencia de alojamiento está bien, muy cerca del puerto, esta mañana vamos a San Island, el hotel está en el puerto de cinco minutos, es conveniente!

Ha sido tan tan nefasto que voy a empezar por orden cronológico. 1. Solicitamos recogida en el aeropuerto por 40 dólares, les facilitamos el número de vuelo, compañía y hora estimada de llegada. Llegamos antes de hora (digo yo, que si conocen la compañía cuentan con ello), a las 22.20 y les escribimos para decir que ya estamos, pues aún así y tras dos llamadas que nos van a costar un pastizal aparecen a las 23.05. A todo esto asediándonos todos los taxistas de dar es salam del aeropuerto. 2. Llegamos por fin al hotel. Nos hacen pagar nada más llegar, casi las 12 de la noche, pido un descuento porque llevamos 45 min esperando (el chofer se demoró 20 minutos de la hora acordada más los 25 minutos de adelanto) y me dice que no. Siendo un error suyo lo mínimo es tener un detalle y asumir el fallo. Como no quiero discutir porque no me defiendo bien en inglés les decimos que necesitamos un taxi para el día siguiente a las 9.00 pm y nos vamos a dormir. 3. Mato una cucaracha nada más entrar en la habitación. 4. Nos llaman sobre 9.16 am para decirnos que tenemos al chofer esperando. Les digo que no, que es por la noche y que lógicamente no nos vamos a ir ya. 5. Hacemos el check out, preguntamos si podemos estar en la piscina porque sale tarde el vuelo y ducharnos. Nos dicen que si, que ducharnos no pero podemos refrescarnos en la piscina o que nos arreglarían algo. Volvemos de comer y la piscina está cerrada. No sé si pretenden que nos refresquemos en un charco aprovechando que está lloviendo. 6. Como ha seguido el asedio por la calle volvemos al hotel, preguntamos el precio de una habitación para cuatro horas y poder ducharnos, ya que no facilitan ese servicio. Pretenden cobrarnos 76,50 dólares (67 euros) cuando en booking está con desayuno incluido por 89 euros. ESTO ES YA INACEPTABLE y les digo que no, obviamente. En todos los hoteles nos han dejado o bien una habitación o una ducha, gratis en la mayoría de los casos, o bien por un precio simbólico, tanto en Tanzania como en otros países (que hemos viajado un poquito eh??) pero esto es de ser unos caraduras. No se merecen la categoría de hotel, y desde luego JAMÁS ME ALOJARÉ EN SU CADENA HOTELERA. El Staff sonriente y amable, eso lo único bueno, pero como en toda Tanzania. UUsuario invitadoI booked this hotel due to two reasons - its a Marriot property now and the beach pier which I saw in the pics. Unfortunately the pier is closed now and there is no direct access to any beach. That was a big disappointment. The other issue was that there is no calling bell outside the room. So the staff has to knock!! If you are asleep or TV is ON, you will mostly not hear it. Bit strange despite being a marriot property.
The pros: The check in and checkout was seamless. The reception is very well managed and the people are very nice and hospitable. The breakfast buffet was good with nice vegetarian options (which I had requested and the hotel was kind enough to oblige). The deluxe room with ocean view was quite large and had a nice balcony. though not directly on the watefront, could view the ocean...it should be renamed as partial view of ocean though. The in room dining food was quite good. Also the location is in a nice part of the town.

Noise from outside water pump keeps you up all night.
Wont stay there again.

En el check-in en Ibra me mostró pocas habitaciones antes de elegir lo que quería, me aseguró que estaba cómodo, el desayuno cocinado por Grace era perfecto, ella es hermosa y así es todo el personal, y Joel el gerente es muy agradable y bienvenido. El bar es popular en la zona y la ubicación es perfecta. No hay ruido, las habitaciones son tranquilas.
