Tradewinds Apartments

Firstly, there are a number of pluses to the apar**ents: they are spacious, close proximity to the beach, on-site carparking. But…….. We arrived at our apar**ent and were immediately met with a dated interior and a lot of signs advising us that rubbish must be emptied on leaving the unit otherwise a charge will be made to our credit card. All crockery and cutlery must be washed and placed in its original place upon leaving……all these signs were a bit meh. Pity this wasn’t something the management checked up on as there were several dirty cups, plates and cutlery in the apar**ent so we washed up what we planned on using for the days we were there. The drawers in the kitchen needed emptying and cleaning. The level of cleanliness in the unit is average at best. The apar**ent is well-appointed in that it contains a good kitchen, spacious lounge, washer and dryer. But there were items of furniture that now are definitely past their use-by date and should be replaced. The red leather couch for instance, you sit and your knees immediately meet your chin. The springs have gone on that. The chairs at the dining table have lost their spring and you sit in a hole on a number of them. The bathroom is totally outdated, water-damaged and needs to be replaced. Then we get to the bedroom. You only get one pillow each. The bed had a green blanket on the top. This blanket was filthy. There were very noticeable stains on the blanket and it was most off-putting that this had not been picked up when the linen had been changed for our arrival. We put the blanket on the floor but seeing as there were no other blankets in the apar**ent it meant we had a very cold night. My husband took it downstairs to management the next morning and asked for a new blanket. There was surprise from management and they said they would sort it for us and place a clean blanket in our room. We went out for the day and returned to find another blanket on the bed that was also dirty and contained stains. Again my husband went down to management and was met with the excuse that our original blanket was not dry yet so they had taken a blanket out of another apar**ent! Good grief don’t you have a supply of clean linen on site? On the last night of our stay my husband had got up in the night and upon coming back to bed had inadvertently got between the bottom sheet and the mattress protector. Morning came and we were packing to leave. I pulled the sheets back to remove the bedding and to my horror the state of the mattress protector was filthy. The stains were large and some contained what looked like blood. I was shocked that we had been lying on these stains under the sheet for the whole of our stay. This is totally unacceptable and can only be described as a disgusting level of housekeeping. Management needs to take a long, hard look at their housekeeping standards. Sadly, we won’t ever be staying at Tradewinds again.

Booked a 3 bedroom apar**ent mainly for the space but because we were a couple, only 2 bedrooms were opened. Third bedroom locked. Would have saved money and just paid for a 2 bedroom unit. Apar**ent is tired - main bedroom, door venetian blind exit to balcony, falling to pieces, one side bed lamp. We moved a lamp to give us more light. Main living area , the floor is sloping and quite obvious so had to be aware when moving around the lounges. Balcony at front railing has been reconstructed as old concrete degrading. Ground floor parking (free) but tight. However, location and views excellent.

Comfortable apar**ent with everything you need for a stay away from home. Perfectly located within arms reach of almost everything! The Hoey Moey pub is directly across the road along with the beach, the bowling club just up the road and the shopping centre a short drive away. The managers are lovely and they have the cutest little dog who greeted us and said goodbye when we left! We were on the ground floor which someone mentioned isn’t actually on the ground floor but once you have checked in you can go via the lift thru the carpark to avoid stairs. Our first night we went to sleep with windows open and there were extremely high winds that come up thru the night. Windows are double glazed so as soon as they were shut you almost couldn’t hear the wind whipping around outside. Absolutely no negatives to our stay other than I wish we had longer.

Spacious apar**ent, we had unit 3, ground floor, beds comfortable. Carpark in the basement is a challenge with limited manoeuvring capability, we drive a Tuscon, was a tight fit. Lift to the apar**ent & if you ask the manager there is a trolley he can provide to help move in your gear. Apar**ent was well set out, room to move, nice balcony but get rid of the broken chairs. Make sure you take your rubbish out before you leave. Pub across the road a bit noisy, food not that good, didn't try the Bowls Club ? a better meal. Bathroom ok, shower water pressure dismal. Make sure you bring all your own toiletries etc as none provided except motel size soap in bathroom. For what we paid was ok, old adage you get what U pay for. Managers helpful but we didn't appreciate the dog hanging around.

Fully self contained apar**ents overlooking the beach Rob the manager took great care of us advised us of the awesome pub across the road. What a great place for a weekend away with mates or families

Just a tip for the more mature traveller -- the 'ground floor' unit is not really on the ground floor. About 4 stairs to navigate with no handrail to get to front door of building then about 5 or 6 stairs to the unit. Once you have the keys you can get in & out without using any stairs. No dishwasher & 'guests' are expected to wash the dishes, replace into their original cupboards & take out all rubbish before leaving. Otherwise 'additional cleaning costs may be incurred'. This seems to be a trend in most places now but it means you are relying on the fact that the previous 'guests' are leaving eating & drinking utensils properly cleaned. This reallyvis at odds with the current health crisis. Some of the dishes in the unit did still have food stuck on. Lounge was obviously old, showing a lot of wear & uncomfortable. The carpet was also old & stained. Both need replacing. The family that run the property are ABSOLUTELY delightful & so friendly. Would love to give this place a higher rating as we did have a good stay.

An older property but excellent location and one of the few where you can see tghe ocean from a Park Beach address. Stayed on the 6th floor (#25) with a side view to the sea, and had great views to the harbour and mountains. Large 2brm unit with full kitchen and laundry. Plenty of space for up to 4 people. Only negatives - ＜＞ no pot holders ＜＞ no tongs in kitchen ＜＞ some light globes out ＜＞ a little pricey for off season

We stayed here for a week in January. We booked a ground floor 3bed apar**ent . Apar**ent was spacious and all the things you would need for a week such as as a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Plenty of cutlery and linen but, you will need to bring beach towels. The location is very central to the beach and there are a great couple of cafes need by for coffee and breakfast. There are also a couple of nice restaurants and of course there is pub and club food nearby ( we didn’t rate the food at the bowling club or pub). The place is also very near to shops and a short drive to the harbour. Cons, there can be a bit noise from the pub but it finishes relatively early and observations is people leave quietly, the pool area is at the back and doesn’t flow well. It could also do with some noodles / play stuff for kids. Big pro is the managers Rob and Jenny who were very helpful and when we did have one problem, they sorted it very quickly. Highly recommended for a family holiday…We would certainly rebook if going to Coffs again.

Stayed with family at The Tradewinds, Apar**ent 17. The Apar**ent is very spacious, spotlessly clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Even a spare garbage bag, detergent, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee, milk starter pack was provided which was greatly appreciated. Plenty of parking out the back or on the road within a short walking distance. Brilliant location so close to beach access, a lovely coffee shop, a pub and a bowling club, a large shopping centre a short drive away. Everything was so perfect, we absolutely loved our stay, could not fault anything at all. Met our lovely host Rob who was so helpful and friendly. We can't wait to stay at The Tradewinds again.
