Perfect location as slap bang in the middle of the main street and has everything available around it to you, close to bus stops,shops,restaurants and trails.
A self service hostal so can't comment on service as you serve yourself.
Kitchen available but can be cramps due to other people in the hostel using it and limited cooking room if someone else is using it.
Would use again

One star feels polite. The location of this hostel is great but the hostel itself is gross. - Fruit flies and insects all over the small kitchen surfaces and items - Weird smell in the overall hostel, I know the building is old but… - Not convinced the bed linen was washed before we arrived - Crumbs and dirt everywhere encouraging pests - Other guests mostly seemed nice but just a weird atmosphere, feels like some dodgy uncles apartment - The overall vibe is kinda spooky, like something out of a Stephen King novel. I would highly recommend you pay the extra couple bucks and check into another hostel in town, because this place really put a damper on our time in Canmore.

Had a really great experience! Was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews but it was honestly super awesome! It was comfortable, clean, great location, and not noisy!!

Had to re arrange to ast1 trip due to family emergency and rang the hostel to ask if itd be possible to re arrange which the guy on the phone said hed ring me back to sort it and and got a text later that evening saying to go to ******* to get a refund when it was not a refund i was after but just changing the days

When we arrived we had to leave our shoes on a shelf at the top of the stairs. We knew it was not going to be the Hilton but it was far cry from the hostels I have stayed at before. Granted it is a historical building but this was a little over the top. Not going there ever again. We had to leave the TV on to drown out the drummer in the bar below. Music went on until 4 am. Not recommended if you are not going to party in the bar below all night long.
