Arriving was a little bit of a hassle as Google sends you to another place. Place looks lovely from outside side. Service was okay, was a little setback that in-house staff are there to check mini bar before we leave the room for the day. The rooms were okay bathroom a little cramped especially trying to close the door. The beds are a little hazardous, locks on the wheels might be a good thing. The decor could do with an update but was comfortable. I feel the the $25 charge for parking what looks to be the staff parking is bit steep. Overall was an okay stay. 7 out of 10.

A great hotel. Staff were all good but Cheri was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast very good. No complaints at all. We thought the place was exceptional value for money. It would have been nice to have stayed longer but onward flights were booked

My partner and I stayed at sunshine tower for 5 nights and it was an enjoyable stay. I want to start by saying the girls on reception were all very friendly and welcoming, they were happy to have a chat anytime and also recommended places to visit and see. Shout out to Phoebe she was lovely! The property is a little be further out of the main ***** but only a 10-15 minute walk or you can jump on one of the Beam scooters that are outside. The outside of the property is tired looking and could do with an update but the rooms are renovated and lovely. Tiled floors, updated furniture and great sizes. The kitchenette was lovely to have even though we didn’t really use it. There is no oven or stove up so keep this in mind when booking. The bathroom was a tad small but worked and the shower was great! We were in room 702 which had a lovely view towards the beach but note that this level also houses the electrical stuff so it is a little loud when you are trying to sleep. The tv was a smart tv but could never connect to the wifi so I would recommend them to update to have modems on each level. The outdoor pool and sauna were okay, only used it once and unfortunately the texture of the spa and pool was very rough on the skin so couldn’t stay in there long. BBQs are available for use but we didn’t use these. No housekeeping (I knew about this before booking) however the girls at reception were more than happy to provide more toilet paper/towels/tea/coffee etc with no extra cost. Overall it’s a great property and worth the visit for stays under a week!

Great food and friendly helpful staff. Although this building is quite old it has been reasonably well renovated and is very comfortable to stay at. I had to leave VERY early to catch a bus and was supplied with a box breakfast, most welcome at 5am. On my return from my trip to Karumba we found that my booking had been made incorrectly a week further ahead.on arrival at 7pm , very tired,I was very grateful that the duty manager was able to put me into a very nice room for the night, and I was able to have a delightful meal and catch up with the gorgeous Shoni who welcomed me back even though I looked and smelt like Robinson Caruso, would definitely go there again.

Nos quedamos en el Palm Royale por sólo 3 noches y me gustaría que hubiera podido haber sido más largo. Checked in late the 1st night so there was little time left of the day except to go to bed. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the pool and it was quite comfortable. La habitación estaba muy cerca del lobby, el aire acondicionado estaba muy alto y había un ruido de calle. La mayoría de los empleados @ el escritorio estaban agradables y accesibles. Hay también lavandería de huéspedes +++. Las piscinas son fantásticas. El restaurante está cerrado. The air conditioning in the rooms was a bit too strong, and there is no controller to modify it. It's a centralised system.
The bed has to be done by yourself when arriving. Finding it done would be appreciated. A shelf and individual light in the bed would be really useful.
The building is very big and has enough room in the common areas and kitchen (which is busy at any time).
Services are fine overall.

LLinda E Address: 331-337 Lake St, Cairns City QLD 4870 Phone: (07) 4041 6605 If you are unfortunate enough to be allocated this unit there are things you should be advised The Edge Apartments Cairns is situated in Cairns only 220 yards from the Northen end of the Esplanade and the Coral Sea. It has 2 outdoor pools and spacious air-conditioned apartments. COMMENT In June 2023 We found our apartment 205 for 10 days to NOTt to be of 4star standard at all. PRO: The bedlinen and bathroom towels were very clean and of good quality. The air conditioning worked. The ceiling fans worked. The apartment was spacious. The fridge worked but bottom of door shelving missing. Inconvenient if you wanted to store water bottles etc. CONS: ” Each unit at the Edge has a flat-screen TV”., which was NOT working and had to be re-connected by guest. “Free Wi-Fi” NOT available in unit 205 – we were informed by office unless you wanted to stand outside of office area to connect. Apartment was dark, - lighting in all rooms inadequate and woefully dim and outdated. Lighting in laundry area was badly positioned – and here there were no instructions on how machine worked. *Vertical Blinds in poor state and need maintenance or replacement. *All doors (screen and glass sliding) need maintenance to run smoothly. *The furniture was inappropriate (apart from 2 leather sofas) and badly arranged. *The ambience was noisy. The decor throughout the apartment – wasn’t.!! Except 2 pictures hung almost at ceiling. – 1 small mirror in dark hallway., and a wall clock. (All 15 years or more in age) *No rugs or furnishings to soften the décor or the echo sounding throughout the apartment. *Coffee table in bad state. *Dining table satisfactory but serviced by 2 different types of chairs. *The bathroom needed maintenance/upgrade (and pictures I have taken show much damage to outer base of shower, mould along the wall.) *The kitchens come equipped with very basic essentials. Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway are only a 10-minute drive away.

UUsuario invitadoWe stayed there for 5 nights while on a conference/sightseeing trip in February (low season). The hotel is not new, but clean and within short walking distance of Cairns CBD and beach and just across the road from Cairns Aquarium. We liked the on-site Chinese restaurant for menu variety and food quality. We disliked in-room internet: pretty much it was not working between 9am and 9pm. It got very noisy one night but that was because of drunk hotel guests. Not much hotel managers could do about that, I suppose.

UUsuario invitado When I got there the room smelt of mould. I was told that was the smell of the cleaning products, but I am not stupid so I insisted they change the room. They did, but it was infested with ants. They were in the sink area, on the counter, in the bathroom, and around the toilet bowl. They even got into the wardrobe. I spoke to reception about it and all I got was a ”there is nothing we can do for you”. They sent someone after 2 days (as I had to wait since it was Sunday as if I hadn't paid for the weekend!) and he also said there was nothing he could do. I complained to booking.com and they told them they had upgraded me - BIG FAT LIE. Very quick to send me messages to leave reviews (here you have it!) but not to resolve issues. There was also an electrical fault that destroyed two expensive universal adapters. The hotel did nothing to compensate for this. Again ”there is nothing we can do for you” is what I got. I lost a day's pay as I could not work without a power supply, had to purchase new adapters the following day, and all they could say is ”there is nothing we can do for you”. What kind of hotel doesn't have adapters? The AC unit was exposed, the door was tricky to lock/unlock (the receptionist had to show me how to lock the door), and there is no one available at night in case something goes wrong. Lastly, the listing says daily cleaning but this is not true. You are only allowed to ask for it once in the middle of your stay and you need to request this. I did and she barely cleaned anything, just a quick vacuum and change of sheets and some towels (not all). My sincere advice as a world traveller: STAY AWAY FROM HOTEL TROPIQ. Their customer service is ZERO. Quick to take credit card details but then refuse to take responsibility for anything that goes wrong within the service. You just have to accept a ”there is nothing we can do for you”. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy!

El personal de recepción estuvo atendido durante un poco más de lo que esperaba inicialmente, lo cual fue un alivio. Llegué temprano y, aunque mi habitación no estaba lista, rápidamente me cambiaron de habitación, lo cual fue genial. La recepción y el resto del personal fueron amables; Estuve muy contento con el servicio de habitación solo bajo petición. El aire acondicionado funcionó bien; las camas estaban bien; la ducha goteaba un poco (pero no molesta). El baño era básico pero funcional. Estaba asistiendo a un evento en el centro de convenciones, que estaba a 20 minutos a pie; Probablemente no sea el público objetivo, pero funcionó para mí. Sin duda me alojaría de nuevo por el precio.
