We chose a family room as we needed two beds. It was at the very top of lots of stairs. The room itself was quite awful. The decoration of the room was terrible, the luggage rack was hanging off the wall, there was no toilet roll holder, just the bracket on the wall, and the toilet roll was on the floor. The beds were good and comfortable. the normal Greene King food offering was available but it was not very good. No parking available and all roads in the area were for permit holders only and a three hour maximum paid stay. I suggest Greene King management should stay in their own hotels and ask themselves if they would be happy to pay £135 to stay in that room.

Channings hotel is a lovely period building situated in Clifton, a smart area of Bristol. It is close to the Suspension Bridge, the shops and bars, and a short walk into the city. Our room was small but had all we needed. The staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful and dealt with everything efficiently. The breakfast was good, as was the pub food. Great value in an expensive area. Car parking can be tricky.

The property looks lovely from the outside and indeed is very busy in the pub. It’s a different story when staying in the hotel! The family room that we had was disgusting, tired and rundown. The plus side was the staff are pleasant and it’s close to the City.

Came here for the first time ever for some food and a drink, which was absolutely lovely, but the service alone was so amazing I’ve found my new favourite place! Thanks to Millie’s service I will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you Millie🙌🏼

We had a wonderful time at this charming hotel, as if we were staying in a merchant's house. The staff were exceptionally friendly, making our experience truly memorable. The hotel provided a fantastic opportunity to relax and explore all that the historic city of Bristol has to offer, including the 6 O'clock Gin Distillery, the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well maintained, creating a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. We have to give a special thanks to Graca, Millia and Nushu from the pub who made our evenings truly enjoyable. The kitchen also offered excellent breakfasts. We were left full of impressions from this city of once a wealthy merchant, and now a young student thanks to the University of Bristol.

We hired the basement of Channings for a Class of '92 University Reunion on 7 July. The Channings Team were incredible. From the outset, Boris was so helpful in understanding our requirements. Then, on the night, Sasha, Jack and Alejandra deserve a medal for making our evening so very special and for being so patient with our group of excited 50+ year olds! The finger buffet was awesome - it was seriously good food. Well done to the kitchen staff. We couldn't have had a better evening. We thank you from the bottoms of our hearts xx

This was the 2nd time we had stayed at Channings, it suited our needs perfectly as family live close by.My criticism is with regard to the general state of the decor in our room,(22). It was tired and in parts rather shabby. I am certain that there is a programme for renovation but I believe there needs to be a sense of urgency with this.
Our room was cleaned well and the water fabulously hot, for which I thank you.Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
