The hotel is overall okay — suitable if you’re mainly looking for a place to sleep rather than to spend much time in. The staff have very limited English skills, so communication can be a bit difficult. Use Google Translate ;) We were upgraded from a double to a quadruple room, which was kind but resulted in less space to move around as most of the room was taken up by beds. The bathroom was clean and featured a modern Japanese-style toilet. The shower was pleasant, with an adjustable showerhead for different water streams. The ceilings are low. Wi-Fi was quite slow, making it difficult to stream a movie in the evening. The telephone in the room, which we didn’t use, was visibly dirty and could use a deep clean. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including many vegetarian-friendly dishes, which we appreciated. However, most of the food — including the eggs — was served cold. Note that not the entire building belongs to the hotel; the third floor appears to be residential, so you may see some locals passing through. We stayed on the fifth floor — some street noise was noticeable, but we still slept well. The hotel feels relatively new, with fresh mattresses and feather pillows, which were comfortable. Most of the other guests seemed to be domestic Chinese tourists. Given the above mentioned points I would recommend to rather stay at Norden Ruder Branch 2 across the street, where you also get a more international flair.

It’s a landed property with 3 floors. No lift, so either leave your heavy luggage downstairs or carry up on your own. Smaller public space and kitchen but good enough to stay around. The hostel is well managed with fans to air and dry out the space. 4 toilets and 3 showers for 4 bedrooms (around 28 beds I think). But if not all using the shower room or toilet at the same time. It’s just nice. Would be good if there’s 1 or 2 more hangers in the shower and toilet. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. Breakfast is included with simple white toast, one egg each and jam. Although location is 20 mins bus to downtown, it’s close to train station to travel to other small town and convenient stop for 台湾好行. I had no issue as vegetarian as there are eateries around within 5-30 mins walking distance and convenient stores at station. Receptionists are friendly and helpful. There are travel information available for last minute planning. Free bike renting starts from 10am. There’s postal service too.

Me alojé dos noches en Machiya Posong durante mi viaje de mochilero por Taitung. Fue una experiencia increíble hospedarme en un hotel Ryokan que combina la atmósfera de una casa tradicional japonesa con un toque moderno en su diseño interior. Dentro del hotel también hay un dispensador de agua, lo que facilita servirse agua en lugar de ir a una tienda. Como los ryokan generalmente no están insonorizados, algunas personas mencionaron el ruido. Sin embargo, personalmente, no afectó en absoluto mi calidad de sueño. Por último, también me gustaría expresar mi sincero agradecimiento al personal de recepción que me atendió durante mi registro. Su forma de hablar tan amablemente mientras me explicaba toda la información del hotel demostró su profesionalismo en la hospitalidad. Es un servicio excelente, centrado en el huésped.

We stayed one night only and missed the night market, but hotel is well located with fruits retailers all away and easily accessible to ferry and train station. Hotel is clean and room size is big, staff services is also kind and helpful. Breakfast is also good with lot of local cuisines available. One of the best choices in local area we reckon.

I highly recommend this hotel for all travellers, especially foreigners - note I was a self-drive so the location wasn't an issue. From the moment I arrived I was greeted by a lovely young lady who came outside to show me my car space. Her equally-lovely colleague then assisted in checking me in and making me feel very welcome. I was given a map of the local area and some suggested eating spots. They also helped in charging my phone. The girls' spoke enough English to help me, and the breakfast at a nearby cafe was great. The room was exactly what I needed - a very clean room, comfortable bed, and nice warm shower. I am going to stay again next time I visit beautiful Taiwan.

This resort is very outdated. Needs a major upgrade. It has old resort smell and the bathroom of the room we had stayed we’re not clean and needed repairs done. The spa was okay and it was weird to have residential building nearby to look over the spa swimming pool. The facility looks old and empty. There are residential buildings around but no restaurants nor eatery nearby, only one 7-11. However, the staffs were wonderful, and we appreciate their help working with us to accommodate our request.

La Sala de Relax en Green Island, Taiwán, ofrece una estancia increíblemente bienvenida, comenzando con un excelente servicio de llegada. Aprecio que ofrezcan llevar sus equipajes directamente a la ubicación, y tener a alguien esperando por usted justo cuando se vaya del ferry hace que la llegada sea totalmente libre de estrés. La propiedad es un poco difícil de encontrar sin ayuda y es cerca de un scooter 9-minute, por lo que su asistencia de llegada es definitivamente necesaria. I have mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, and they deserve to be praised, but there is a clear problem in how the hotel is managed. First of all, an hotel that large, with just one elevator. That is just nuts. Each time we needed to use it, it was at least 5-10 minutes wait, if not more. Also the hotel is clearly understaffed. For breakfast, one of the days there were more than 100 people in the room, with just 1 person to check-in people. The line was just unbearable. It seems the rooms were renovated not that long ago, but it was clearly a faulty renovation. The isolation is poor to non existent given the rain sounds makes it difficult to sleep. And don't get me started with the air isolation, which it directly none. If the wind blows, a breeze flows into the room, causing the curtains to make noise all day long. To be fair also, the location is convenient, just across the street from the bus station, so taking transportation to/from the train station, or along the amazing east coast was easy and quick. All in all, not an awful stay, but I am sure there are better options in the same price range with better overall quality.

Very spacious room good for family. Have to try the restaurant up the hill with the grill fish and bbq. Hoyle breakfast was very good too
