«arrived around 3pm and checked in at the bar as instructed I received a warm welcome and even had my case carried up the stairs (no lift). I was given room 3, a single which was more than adequate with large single bed (very comfy) separate bath tub and wc plus t & coffee- I was pleasantly surprised. The wall mounted tv worked efficiently, there was sufficient storage and hanging space for my two night needs & the t and milks were topped up as requested. brekky was adequate and I enjoyed my stay. The ten am check out was a bit of a problem on the second morning as my train wasn’t until noon (less than 5 minutes walk to the station). the bus to Stratford, Warwick and Coventry goes from round the corner and the town is 7 - 10 minutes walk across the river bridge and past the pump room. plenty of dining options. good value for money but more a boarding house than hotel. I would return»

UUsuario invitadoCouple with dog.
For two nights we didn't have hot water. We rang reception an spoke to the duty manager - the second time...He told us it was because there was a coach load of people staying who had all taken a shower/bath at the same time on their return, and we would have to wait until it heated up again. That didn't allow for the lack of pressure - a trickle! In the end we gave up - no shower/bath. However, the duty manager assured us that the manager would find us the next morning.... this never happened, On the Saturday night the same thing happened. The excuse given by the receptionist for the manager not having found us that morning was there was a wedding and all managers were needed - they didn't start their shift until 11am. The duty manager couldn't speak to us as he was working at the wedding - Saturday night - but Leanne assured us that she had noted our complaint and that she had written up notes, and our inconvenience (now not having hot water for two nights of a three night stay) would be reflected in our invoice on checking out. This wasn't the point. The stay was supposed to be a relaxing, super special treat, not able to have a shower or a bath at night was NOT okay! She assured us that on the third night the 'tour' party and 'wedding party' would have left. So we would have hot water. Which we did.
On checking out the receptionist had no idea about our complaint, and therefore couldn't help us.
We are in the process of writing a compliant, and a review. The staff and hotel did not let you down - the management did!
I have a video of the water pressure.
On another point, the hotel is described as dog friendly. This might be the case. You can bring your dog for a fee of £25 a night, however, on check in we were told we had to eat in the bar area or outside. Luckily the weather was okay. However, we felt like second class citizens! Not only that but the bar area has no tables at which anyone could eat a meal - the tables are all low and only fit for snacks!

UUsuario invitadoIt’s an impressive building so I was having some expectations. The room it was a bit dated in the newer part. Not many amenities as you can expect from this kind of hotel. The bar area is really nice looking over a fabulous garden and so the restaurant. On that note the food was areal let down. I have ordered a Thai green curry chicken. I was soo looking forward to this but when arrived it was a total disappointment. The chicken was probably a leftover from another meal, very dry. The sauce was nothing like green curry and the rice it was microwaved. The waitresses were very lovely and apologised and the removed it from my bill. They said that they have an agency chef! So it’s a real shame !!
UUsuario invitadoIt's all a bit random really. Awkward to find (signage from the road is terrible). Staff are friendly but limited in what they can do, rooms vary from the fabulous to the downright tatty.
Very popular with coach parties, so breakfast can be heaving (no seats, plates or knives when I tried on this stay).
Good if you can get the right price for the room, but not the best example of the Mercure brand by some distance

UUsuario anónimoVery glad I booked in this hotel. I needed a place for a night while coming to see the RSC, and the location couldn’t be better, just across the park.
The room was so pretty and had everything you needed, bathtub, soap, iron, a kettle to make coffee/tea, and hair dryer. It doesn’t have AC, but my assistant dog and I were fine with just the fan. (I wonder in the winter?) But it did have towel warm rack- fantastic to dry off the towels and small washed clothes.
The check in and out super easy and they’re keeping our luggage until we leave tonight, so I’m super grateful about that.
The only thing I’d add to the room is better lighting for the bathroom’s mirror, since I could really see what I was doing 🤣
And maybe a better system to order in the pub, since it was a bit slow…
But the food was Ok for a quick bite.
Everyone was nice and I’d definitely would come back 🙌🏾
UUsuario invitadoI got to the hotel around 5 pm and there was no one at the reception. I went to the restaurant and a young gentleman said he can help me check in. At first he couldn't find my booking as I had done it through TRIPS.COM. Finally he found it I went to my room. La habitación tenía un AC que funcionaba bien. Me senté bien dormida. La mañana fui al restaurante para mi desayuno y pidió una opción vegetariana. Él me preguntó si me gustaría salsa vegetariana y cuántos si así fuera. UUsuario invitadoThis venue was stunning, a beautiful quiet location to catch your breath or walk into Stratford-upon-Avon to enjoy the architecture and see the history.
Wish we could have spent more time there, and we would certainly plan to return and explore further.
Very clean, tidy, and spacious accommodation.
Fittings within the room and in the hotel were excellent. Linen and towels were of superb quality.
The service was excellent throughout, and all the staff were extremely polite and helpful.
