Creo que fui allí alrededor de las 11 p.m., me registré y salí alrededor de las 5:15 a.m.
El personal era amable, la ubicación era buena y el transporte era bueno.

Super süsses Häuschen, haben uns gefühlt wie im Dschungel zwischen so vielen Pflanzen. Wir hatten eine Hütte richtung Ende und Ausgang zum Parkplatz, somit war es eigentlich ganz ruhig. Es gibt einen kostenlosen Parkplatz dazu, hier hat es Platz für alle Arten von Autos. Lage ist perfekt, wirklich mitten drin.

A well positioned Hotel on the airport end of the esplanade. Room was spacious & comfortable, bathroom was clean & had great shower. Food both at breakfast & the bar menu in the evening was delicious with a good choice, would recommend the steaks + there’s no a good wine selection in accompaniment.
Staff are all very welcoming, knowledgeable & helpful with local tour advice. We had a thoroughly pleasant stay here & wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Cuando llegamos nos dieron una habitación doble, como habíamos pedido. La habitación parecía espaciosa, pero cuando entramos al baño, la bañera estaba sucia, la ducha estaba llena de moho y había un olor muy extraño que venía del desagüe. Cuando fuimos a encender el aire acondicionado, la unidad estaba llena de moho y se podía oler. Fuimos a la recepción y preguntamos si podíamos cambiar de habitación, ya que nos acomodaron y nos cambiaron a una habitación mucho más moderna y limpia. La zona de la piscina es preciosa y el personal fue muy servicial. Por el precio que pagamos por noche, fue una excelente relación calidad-precio y una visita a la ciudad costó unos 9 dólares.

El servicio de la habitación es muy limpio y muy conveniente para permanecer. El tren del río Talley está a media hora de la deriva. La playa de la misión no está lejos de pasar por la orilla.

After reading very mixed reviews, we went ahead and booked it. The result: very mixed feelings.
The location was beautiful, the sights breathtaking, the animals adorable, but when it came to actually spending time there, there wasn’t much to do.
We arrived on a later ferry so we knew we wouldn’t have much time to enjoy the sun after arrival, however because of a mix up, our suitcases went missing for an hour making us miss any chance of getting in the pool while it was hot out.
After, we went for dinner. There are only 2 restaurants available, and without making a reservation before hand, it’s a bit hard to go when you want. The food was ok, but expensive as one would expect from a place like this. Once dinner was finished, the evening entertainment (Alice in Wonderland screening) was already underway and we found ourselves with nothing to do at 9pm.
Early night for us.
The following day we planned a day of snorkelling, stingray feeding and kayaking.
We appreciated the free snorkel gear as well as the clear safety instructions and recommendations of the lifeguard. The sting Ray feeding experience was amazing and it was clear the staff knew what they were talking about and were passionate about the animals.
Kayaking and other water sports were cancelled however because of the high winds, leaving us, once again, with nothing to do. Early dinner (very entertaining moment with wallabies attempting to steal our food and being super cuddly), a walk around the beach, movie in the room, and early bedtime.
So all in all, beautiful location with great experiences of the weather allow, make sure to bring some entertainment if the water is too cold to swim in the pool or the weather turns sour. Maybe a book or some board games?
Also: if you want food in the late afternoon, make sure you bring some snacks as there is a limited selection available.

Habíamos reservado una habitación con baño compartido y nos ofrecieron un upgrade gratuito a una con baño privado.
La habitación es muy amplia, la cama muy cómoda, la piscina del hotel, aunque no es enorme, es suficiente, dispone de zona para comer exterior.
El desayuno que ofrece el alojamiento por 10$ es abundante y bueno. Nosotros lo cogimos una de las mañanas con el extra de bacon y huevos y solo con el extra ya nos hubiera sido suficiente gracias a sus generosas porciones. Para los precios de Australia es muy recomendable desayunar aquí

Bar fridge and microwave, toiletries in the bathroom.
Towels excellent.

I was excited to see a very large, modern wide screen TV with onboard Android system.
Disappointed that no internet connection (so I could have used my own passwords for my streaming services.
Even more disappointed that there was no aerial connected, but I had brought my own tech and internet. I just switched off the TV.
Imagine my extreme displeasure to board the 3rd floor lift at 05:00 to have the doors closed - but no button worked!
I WAS TRAPPED IN THE LIFT!!!
I pressed the yellow emergency button for 5 seconds - no answer - pressed multiple times.
I phoned the hotel main number, so they could press the lift call button - no answer.
I phoned the 24/7 emergency 1300 number. The operator said she would send someone out - who would phone me with an ETA.
Getting anxious, being 60 years old with a heart condition, I dialled 000 to call the POLICE!
The dispatcher commended me on remaining so calm.
I assured her, being very hot in cramped spaces with very little air was definitely not conducive to my remaining calm.
They said to call 000 back if I got out before the fire brigade arrived.
Five minutes later I heard voices outside. Someone heard my banging on the lift doors and cries for help.
I GOT OUT
That night the guy on reception said sorry.
I explained that, although the room was marvelous - and that I did eventually get out, a man of my age and I'll health could have died - why wasn't anyone on duty to answer the damn lift emergency phone?
He said he was sorry.

CChih minWe stayed in the hotel for three days（7/7-7/10）. On the first day, no one came to clean the room. We thought we needed to notify the service counter to arrange cleaning. On the second day, we used the ”cleaning notification” button on the phone in the morning, but no one came to clean the next day. On the third day, we reported it to the service counter in the morning, and they said they would arrange for a cleaning staff. As a result, when we returned to the room on the third night, we found that it was still not cleaned (this was the first time we were deceived). So we called the service counter again, hoping that at least they could change the bath towels for us to use. The service counter staff replied that they would ask someone to bring us clean bath towels, but they did not keep their promise in the end. We were deceived again.

PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

Please note the lift is currently under construction so you may need to use the stairs, the stairs are not suitable for children as they have horizontal rails with large gaps. The restraunts buffet looked like it had a decent selection but we did not have it as it was $16each our two and three year olds.

UUsuario invitadoThe check in was fine, the car parking was easy enough, but the room was not in good shape. The room was asthough it had experienced 20 years of schoolines and nothing had been attended to. There was paint peeling off, chips, cracks, unclean carpet, unkept room items. The clock was flashing random time, I didn't check to see if the TV was working, but it didn't mater, I wasn't staying in the room to watch it.
The beds were very clean though, which I was relieved to see.
The breakfast in the dining room was very nice, that was the saving grace.
Won't be staying at this mantra again :(

PPrasadThis hotel is spectacular!!! Not enough words can express how beautiful it is. Every staff member made you individually feel welcomed and genuinely looked after. Each person always had a smile and genuinely wanted to help. For example Gina and Alex in the breakfast restaurant Critique were extremely helpful and at your service. Rahul at reception was helpful and explained all the hotel facilities. The maintenance manager was extremely polite, friendly and helpful. The lagoon area made you feel as if you were in Bali, Phuket etc. To say it is spectacular is an understatement. For my entire stay, each staff member made my birthday extremely special, memorable and second to none ever experienced before. Thank you all the staff at JW.

Studio room is awesome, specially ocean view with balcony, the views are just fabulous. My shower had no pressure and they changed my room without any issue immediately. The bar in the lobby has delicious snacks. Super friendly staff, Studio room comes with a small kitchen, with oven and dish washer and cooking range.

WWillI recently stayed at Hides Hotel during a trip to Cairns and was pleasantly surprised by the value and charm this heritage-style hotel offers.
The location is absolutely unbeatable—right in the heart of the city and within walking distance of the Esplanade, night markets, Reef Fleet Terminal, and plenty of restaurants and cafes. Whether you’re heading out for a reef tour or just exploring the local area, Hides is a super convenient base.
The room was basic but clean and comfortable. It had everything I needed, including air-conditioning (a must in Cairns!), a small fridge, and free Wi-Fi. The building itself has an old-school character that’s a bit different from your typical chain hotels, which I actually really liked—it feels like you’re staying somewhere with history.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, happy to give recommendations and assist with bookings. There’s also a lovely wide veranda on the upper level, which is a great spot to relax in the evening and take in the atmosphere of the city.
Only downside was that the hotel is a bit dated in places, and depending on the room you’re in, you might hear a bit of street noise—but that’s to be expected in a central location like this.
Overall, Hides Hotel is a great choice for budget-conscious travelers who want clean, central, no-fuss accommodation with character. I’d definitely consider staying again.
