For me, there are several factors when it comes to reviewing a hotel. In this case, the property mainly operates as a pub and restaurant, with the hotel as more of an add-on feature. Location: 5 stars, no doubt. It’s right in the CBD, making it super convenient to walk around and access nearby places. Room: Spacious, clean, well-equipped, and facing the pool—so at least there’s a nice view. However, there are a few downsides. The rooms are not soundproof at all. Since there are live performances at the open-space pub right below from about 6–10pm, expect some noise. Even after the music ends, you can still hear people chatting downstairs. And just fyi there is no toothpaste, and indoor flip flop. Wi-Fi: This was the biggest issue. Even though I stayed in the room closest to the router (as staff mentioned) and the hotel has two networks—one for pub guests and one for hotel guests—the signal basically disappeared once I stepped into my room. My phone couldn’t connect at all unless I went outside, and while my iPad could connect, the connection kept dropping every 15–20 minutes. I had to manually reconnect each time. I’m not an IT expert, but it seems like they might be using a small-scale or shared network that struggles when too many users are online. Aside from that, everything else was fine. The staff were supportive, and both check-in and check-out were smooth—especially check-out, which was quick and hassle-free.

Tuvimos una estancia fantástica y no podríamos haber pedido un lugar mejor. Las habitaciones y los baños parecen recién renovados. Todo está impecable, las camas son divinas y agradecemos mucho la calefacción. El personal es muy amable y lo recomendamos totalmente.

We really enjoyed our family stay at Desert Gardens Hotel in Uluru. The location within the Ayers Rock Resort is excellent and makes it very easy to explore the area. Our room was large, comfortable, and offered plenty of space for a family of four, which we really appreciated after long days out. The hotel also offers tours, making planning straightforward and convenient. A complimentary shuttle bus runs to the marketplace, which is a great touch and very practical. The nearby marketplace is a real highlight. There’s a supermarket with everything you might need if you don’t want to eat at the hotel all the time, as well as several tour providers where you can easily book individual or group tours. It was also lovely to see Indigenous artists selling their paintings and crafts, which added to the overall experience. Overall, Desert Gardens Hotel is a very comfortable, well-located choice for families visiting Uluru, and we would happily stay there again.

The check in experience was not good. Room was fully paid for but had to provide credit card even though I don't have one. Desk clerk made it quite clear that any damage would need to be paid for. why, because I am Aboriginal (he did not say this but it was clear in his attitude). He also mentioned about guests. for a company that makes a substantial amount of money from the Aboriginal community it is sad that you have prejudiced people welcoming guests.

El hotel está situado en el centro de Marrara, donde se celebra el evento. Lo que más nos gusta: muy limpio hotel, cómodo parque en el lugar del hotel justo en frente de nuestra unidad a un coste adicional, gran piscina y alguna opción de restaurante y cafetería en el sitio. La habitación que reservamos era realmente espaciosa. Teníamos una estadía muy agradable.

Para familias numerosas o grupos de amigos, este tipo de habitación es muy económica. Por ejemplo, nuestro grupo de cuatro adultos y dos niños se alojó en una habitación cuádruple con una cama doble y tres camas individuales, asegurándonos de que cada uno tuviera su propia cama, todo al precio estándar de una habitación cuádruple. La puerta automática de la recepción era genial, ¡y la recepcionista fue muy amable y conversadora! También se pueden reservar actividades en recepción, incluyendo excursiones en helicóptero y visitas guiadas a precios muy económicos. Aunque la zona es algo remota, cuenta con excelentes servicios: restaurantes, clínicas, gasolineras, tiendas, agencias de viajes, bares, etc. Los restaurantes ofrecen desayuno, almuerzo y cena, y los bares tienen música en vivo. Sin embargo, todas las tiendas son propiedad de una sola empresa y están gestionadas por ella. Tomar algo en su restaurante por la noche fue fantástico; todo costaba solo 8 dólares australianos. Sin embargo, esta vez no vi ningún dingo. Había oído que hay bastantes dingos por aquí, considerados una especie local. Quizás no vienen por el frío. En general, este es el mejor lugar para hospedarse en la zona de Kings Canyon, y el precio es razonable. Al menos hay señal de celular y acceso a internet, lo cual es mucho mejor que en otros lugares para hospedarse en Kings Canyon.

Las habitaciones son perfectas, muy espaciosas, excepto la ducha y el baño son un poco convulsas pero útiles. Muy limpias con todo lo que necesitas. El personal fue amigable y el check-in fue fácil. Servicio de mantenimiento de la casa diario a más si lo necesitas.

Very convenient location as it’s next to the town centre and shopping mall.  Staff are friendly and helpful.  Some rooms however are seen able by public access so privacy may need to be protected.  Due to the open corridors and courtyards are surrounding all the rooms, could be very noisy if other guests are having conversations.  Note  that the desk phone in all the rooms are not working just for display!  There’s no food and beverage facilities.
