Aparthotel Familie Hugenschmidt

This review is slightly delayed, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to provide an excellent review for our stay at Aparthotel Hugenschmidt family. From the moment we made the reservation until we departed, everything was exceptional. The communication with the hosts was timely, and they were extremely helpful with any questions, no matter how simple or complex. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by one of the owners and she provided an overview of the apartment and the local area. Gave us great recommendations on restaurants (Metzg-one of the best on our trip) and a local pastry shop across the street. The apartment itself was impeccably clean, and all amenities that you could imagine were available, including chargers, electric adapters, and luggage mats to name a few. Overall, an amazing stay; probably one of the nicest apartment-style hotels we have stay in world-wide. Truly a gem, in a nice neighborhood just two or so blocks away from Lake Zurich. Hope to return again some day to Zurich, and if we do, we would definitely stay here.

The host mistaken us with another customer because we "look like" that particular name of the customer. She had many clues NOT to assume, she didn't who we are when we arrived. She gave us a specific parking slot around 30 mins before but as soon as we arrived she said we parked in a wrong slot - because she thought we were the other customer. THEN, she told us we booked for 2 people only instad of 3.I did not. Only when she was checking on computer we looked from behind & found out she mistaken us w the other customer's information. Then she said, "for Eur*&ean people like us, you look like Mr (name)" Inappropriate especially in the hospitality industry.

This was one of the cleanest and neatest places I have ever stayed. Great location. Would definitely recommend.

It was an alright room but next time I will stay at a hotel. Parking was approximately $50 for 2 days & to use the washer was about $11 a load. The only reason I choose this listing was I read the ad wrong about washer in room. Thought it would be a bigger room but it was the size of a regular hotel room. Owners were nice & very accommodating.

Amazing stay, impeccable hospitality - Sylvia went above and beyond to help with so many things. I stayed here for a week during a conference and highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding regard for its guests. Such a human and generous host, spotless rooms and super convenient location, easy walk to downtown and to the lake with tram right at your door. Lots of bakeries, shops and restaurants all around I would defiantly stay again and again. Vielen Dank! Sylvia

Very nice hotel with great location, clean rooms, and helpful owner. The location is outside the tourist area, and you can see the life of local upper middle class here, especially many local kids. The area is clean, safe, and still convenient with public transit (especial tram no.4 leads you to train station and most tourist attractions) and groceries (if you do not want to spend money at restaurants). The bakery the hotel recommended for breakfast is excellent with reasonable price. The park nearby has a wonderful lakeview. The room is clean, comfortable, and with good space for this price range in Zurich. There is a fridge and a microwave. USB outlets are very convenient for charging our phones and camera, as we do not need to worry about adapter difference (we are from Canada). The hotel also provides sandals. The hotel owner, a very nice lady, are very responsive in emails before our arrival, and gave us a lot of suggestions during our stay. A very pleasant stay.

Straightforward and comfortable. Extremely clean and reasonable location. It’s no frills but they also seem to have thought of everything.

Wonderful family run hotel! Room spotless, location quiet, communication from owner/host excellent. Sylvia so helpful to email in advance the train line directions from airport to hotel(easy 20 min ride) Walk to lake, many shops nearby including supermarket and bakery. Thank you Sylvia!
