The hostel is located in the commercial center area of Ganzhou District, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, an ancient city with a history of two thousand years on the Silk Road. You can taste various traditional snacks within 100 meters of leaving the store. It is only a 7-8 minute walk from the Ming Dynasty architecture - Bell and Drum Tower - and the millennium old temple of the Western Xia Dynasty - the Great Buddha Temple, which is located in the city center. Within 150 meters of the hostel, there is the largest supermarket and shopping and dining center in the city, making it convenient for you to provide travel supplies and dining entertainment. The surrounding banks, pharmacies, cinemas, and other facilities are complete. We have prepared various room types for you in the store. Leisure bar, self-service kitchen, self-service laundry room (with hangers and drying area), public bathroom, public computer, and reading room are all available. El hotel muy céntrico. Los dueños muy amables y te ayudan en todo. Hicimos la excursión a las montañas de colores con ellos y fue genial. Las habitaciones limpias.

*the Silk Road Travelers Hostel* is a popular hostel with independent travellers. Its appeal lies in its ability to provide shared transport making it more affordable to visit inaccessible tourist sites like Zhangye Danxia and Maijishan grottoes.
The host and hostess are very approachable and ever willing to help with advice and tips to make your stay more comfortable.
The hostel is very clean and the location is superb. There are eateries everywhere. The famous Dafo Temple is within walking distance and it is possible to get around easily.
You have a pick of rooms from dorms to bedrooms with attached bathrooms which we opted for.
A good accommodation choice while visiting the area!

This hostel accepts foreigners.
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and attentive. They speak basic English and they can help with any question you have. The showers are on different floors depending on the gender (women 3rd floor and men 4th floor. They have many amenities, even a washing machine (but you will need coins for that).
We found it a little expensive for what they offer but unfortunately there are not many economical options for foreigners in Zhangye.
Another thing, we stayed on the reception floor and sometimes we could hear a lot of noice from reception, just a heads up.

Great place to stay. Conveniently located, fresh towels and friendly people and they speak English so communication is easy. When we arrived they offered us a tour for free, check in was super easy. They have separate floors for women and men showers, a kitchen and a washing machine. A positive experience all round.

This is a great hostel! I first came here to book a tour (they help organise several tours of the area) and decided to stay the next night here. The staff speak good English. It's centrally located and right next to the night market. I ended up taking three of their tours, to Mati Temple, the Gorge and the Danxia park.

The hostel is very well organized and tidy. The double bed room is properly comfortable. Its location is convenient, very close to the night market, also walking distance to the Grand Buddha temple. Laoban is a knowledgeable, patient and generous person who helped us a lot providing details and facilitating sightseeing options as well as information about Qinghai (our next stop).

Love the staff here! They are super friendly and speak English as well. They provide daily options for you to share a car with other guests to the city’s main attractions for a reasonable price as well. The location is very near one of the main food streets and also within walking distance to Dafo Temple. A few things I was disappointed by were the lack of soap for showers and washing hands as well as toilet paper for the bathroom. Also the beds in the dorms are incredibly hard but you get what you pay for!

This place was so nice and super clean/tidy with a very cute aesthetic. There’s a resident cat named Pudding which is a nice novelty, and the hostel is in a great location walking distance to plenty of food, shops and sights. Rooms are spacious with big windows and the owner is so helpful. She speaks English and will send you a list of food recommendations for the surrounding area. They also helped us arrange plenty of sightseeing for a good price! Had a wonderful stay and would gladly go back.
Make sure you try the beef “rice” from the list, it’s so good!!
