Cella Central Historic Boutique Hotel

Room and location very good in condition, price reasonable, clean n big room. Reception very nice 🤗

We loved our stay. The hotel felt traditional with great wooden panelling/furniture and paintings all around. A great central location, with supermarket a few doors down, surrounded by local shops and bars. Walkable to the lake, train station and cable cars up Schmittenhoe. Easy to get to bus stops too. Staff were really friendly and helpful, however reception was only open sometimes. Breakfast was ok, tasty but limited. Dinner was brilliant, some of the best food we had, traditional, tasty and good choices. Recommend half board. Service was speedy. Be aware you have to pay for the Summer Card (£10 pp per day) but worth it for entry/discounts to places and for free bus and train travel. Rooms were spacious, warm, comfy and clean, having a bath and a fridge was a bonus. I would recommend Cella Central and would happily stay again.

Terrible, terrible service. They over rely on their location, but the hotel room was smelly, the rooms are outdated rather than authentic and they don’t take accountability for their mistakes and overall poor service. The front desk is open sporadically and the girl who works there seemed poorly trained and unfriendly. They also gave us a room other than what we reserved, a deluxe room. It had a child’s bed that smelled of diapers and the windows had to stay open to dissipate the smell….unfortunately, as their front desk opens intermittently, we were not able to resolve the room situation before leaving the next morning very early. They also had two open parking spots on their lot which remained empty from the time we arrived until our departure the next morning, however the front desk girl still refused to allow us to use one, forcing us to use the adjacent city parking structure which ended up charging us €43 for overnight accommodation despite the hotel having some agreed upon rate of €15. As we left the next morning at 5 am, I wasn’t able to contact the hotel until later and they, of course, refused to refund the difference to us, blaming us for not following a procedure they never explained to me as the person who made and paid for the reservation. One wonders if they have some agreement with the parking structure next door as an additional revenue stream? I will never stay there again.

Easy check in and out. Room was clean and comfortable. Close to the water and offers various free activities using their summer card. Breakfast had both hot and cold items. Access is from the pedestrian mall but is very close to parking. Lots and lots of restaurant choices within walking distance. I would stay here again.
