Perfect location for a sightseeing trip to York, with car parking. The hotel was gorgeous, beautiful room (we had blenheim suite), huge copper bath in the bedroom (bring your own bubble bath!), super comfy bed, beautifully decorated room. Reception staff lovely and very knowledgeable of local area. Lovely bar too with friendly staff, a range of boardgames available which was fun. Breakfast room had a great Churchill theme ( brilliant top/bowler hat lighting). Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a really lovely stay.

Lovely Hotel Very friendly staff and great breakfast

I I recently stayed at The Churchill Hotel in York “What a disappointment “I've been planning my stay here for nearly a month in the expectation of a lovely relaxing experience.On arrival that expectation was dashed immediately when I was allocated my room even though one of my party clearly had mobility issues we were allocated what can only be described as a broom cupboard with a set of stairs in it ,taking up more than half the room. When I raised a concern about this we were reallocated a room without stairs but also without any ventilation except for a window which for security reasons we could not leave open during the night and any fans provided merely rotated dusty hot stiflingly air around the room meaning we ended up having three nights of no sleep awakening in the morning in a pool of sweat and coughing profusely.As a result of this situation we ended up having to leave a day earlier than we had planned. What upset me the most was that a simple installation of an extractor fan in the window would have solved the ventilation issue.  At nearly £700 for a 4 night mid-week stay, you'd think they'd give you a reasonably sized room with proper ventilation. I  discussed this problem with reception , I admit I should have pressed the matter harder and relocated to another hotel immediately when I realised I was talking to deaf ears instead we just won't go back. The images of the rooms shown on their website did not match what I received. I would urge the management to update the images to more accurately reflect the various room types and layouts. I very very rarely leave bad reviews but this hotel is the most deserving of one I can think of. I honestly feel the Premier Inn would be a much better option next time and probably half the price.As I previously stated I think this visit shall be my first and last .

The room is very nice and clean, only one drawback is that is quit far from city center which you need to take time to walk and there is no restaurants around the hotel.

Beautiful hotel, staff so helpful, clean room very soft bed rooms have iron-hairdryer tea coffee & kitkat on arrival. Good breakfast choice.

Incredible hotel with the friendliest staff! The room was immaculate with a very comfy bed, service from all staff was faultless, and location is just a short walk from the city centre. I would recommend this hotel to anybody staying in York, whether for business or pleasure!

Romantic, near amenities and attractions. The parking entrance is small.
