"Was at Djeuga Palace with a colleague and to be honest, hated every minute of it (pardon my french). At checking in, 2 *********** walked in, waiving their IDs at reception and being lead into the elevators. Throughout our stay, it was clear that the place is used extensively by solo male business travellers and there were a lot of those ladies hanging around in the lounge ... As 2 solo female travellers it did not feel safe, welcoming or clean. My room itself was basic and dirty. I did not dare to walk around without shoes. Sheets had stains. The flush of the toilet was so dirty that I could see fingers or previous guests printed in them ... So my recommendation: find another hotel in Yaoundé. There's better options out there."

"The staff is friendly, that's really the only positive point of this hotel. The exterior infrastructures have not been maintained for ages, which is a shame because the panorama is superb. Let's move on to the negatives: The wifi didn't work. It was impossible to get hot water, so I had to shower with cold water…. Finally I got up in the middle of the night and found that many guests were installed in the bathroom! A myriad of cockroaches were walking around the sink! In short: last time in this hotel which is a disaster!"

"Good option in a very nice location. I stayed in one of the apartments which was spacious and well-equipped. Marthe who runs the place was exceptionally helpful and was able to sort out all of the issues that I had. "Thank you to the entire New Heaven Hotel team for a wonderful stay. It started with a lovely WhatsApp conversation. The reliable driver coping with road works expertly. The check in was easy and the whole team seemed to know that I was arriving. We had a little welcome card in our room for the international conference we were attending. The room was large, the AC powerful and the shower hot at all hours. It had views over the city . The restaurant offered wonderful local cuisine and the staff was friendly, bilingual and offered superb advice. This will be my go-to hotel in Yaoundé."

"Bed was comfortable enough and breakfast was ok. However, staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, air conditioning didn’t work, the WiFi barely worked and when it did, only in a few locations around the hotel. There were no towels the first two days and when they arrived they were the size of a postage stamp (think bathmat). The bar was reasonably priced and staffed til late and the shuttle drivers were reliable and friendly. Some of these things just come from being in a developing country, but others the hotel could improve, especially sin It’s not a cheap hotel."

"Lovely staff but every room I tried had a cockroach. They did their best to deal with the problem and were very apologetic but it is clearly an issue in the hotel. Avoid if you don't like these vsitors. Also no hot water in shower. Otherwise hotel is fine."

"Was on medical conference at this hotel. It’s centrally located, decent breakfast but that’s about it. Shower pressure is pitiful. Had awful experience with the commercial manager. We were due to run a workshop in one of the rooms. We decided to set up but he came in barging telling us the room wasn’t booked for that day. He insinuated that we need to pay. We calmly asked him to speak to conference organiser, as we were just guests. The following day the keys weren’t available, started the workshop very late. Next day, again barges in shouting at my colleague that you only have the room for one day, despite telling us day before we had it for 2 days. Again said we hadn’t paid! At this point I’d had enough and yelled back, telling him to stop shouting and to get out of my sight. For a manager, I find his behaviour unacceptable and extremely rude. Needs to go on a few courses on hospitality management."

"Competent and reasonable for a hotel in Yaoundé, near the British Consulate and town centre. The interior is gloomy but the rooms are a decent size and acceptable condition; no mosquito nets but we haven't been troubled by mosquitoes in the higher up rooms where we've stayed. Breakfast isn't great, other meals available in the restaurant. Parking off the street on the front: ask for Rue Ceper."
