Booked a 2 night stay for a birthday through trip.com…called hotel direct too inform them of our stay & asked if we needed to book restaurant for evening meals but told no we can do that when we arrive, booked a treatment for myself & hubby…upon arrival we were told restaurant was only available for the 1st evening of our stay & breakfast is available at an extra fee…
The food was terrible…Evening meal was a Sirloin, handful of chips & salad leaves at a price of £23, no onion rings or mushrooms etc etc offered with this meal & the steak over cooked, breakfast was worse, bacon chewy, scrambled egg watery, no baked beans & to top it off they charge £10 for full English or £6 for continental, in my opinion & previous stays at other hotels breakfast is complimentary with the room or if a extra fee is asked at least you can get continental & cooked breakfast, I literally paid £10 for bacon,sausage,hash brown, scrambled egg & mushrooms which was all over cooked…
The room was a bit tired with décor & bathroom had no ventilation so after shower became very steamy so you couldn’t see well in the bathroom itself…
Phone call on the morning of my 2nd day to be told that due to staff sickness they had to cancel our spa treatments…due to being a birthday treat this is the only reason we stayed at the hotel so we could use spa facilities & have a special day…
Some staff were pleasant but others came across a bit rude, maybe due too staff shortages so therefore a bit tired but the industry you work in requires a smile & politeness at all times…
Overall my stay was not a pleasant one resulting in us leaving shortly after breakfast & not wanting to stay another night…currently waiting to hear about a refund for the night we didn’t stay☹️☹️☹️
