Fantastic location? City bus stops right outside which could take you downtown Winnipeg for a shopping, or to restaurants. About 25 steps to the Winnipeg airport. Could not be a better location for travelers.

Meg gave my brother and I the best customer service I’ve ever seen in any hotel. He went above and beyond for us that I will be checking into the mainstay a lot more often. Good human beings like him deserve a raise. Given the touch patch we have been through and how tired we were. Words can’t explain the application for such understanding.

Nos quedamos una noche, en total 10 horas en este hotel. No utilizó ni siquiera sus instalaciones, ya que todos estabamos cansados. El servicio al cliente en el teléfono me prometió que me iría a las salas de enlace cuando llegamos, pero cuando llegamos, el tipo de la oficina delantera de la noche me dijo que no podíamos tenerlo. En primer lugar, no me dijo ni siquiera que no tendría las salas de enlace, me dio las llaves. Pregunté por qué, y después de buscar explicaciones en su ordenador durante más de 2 minutos (sé porque lo vi a tiempo en su teléfono), dijo que el AC está desactivado. El hotel es un hotel de 3 estrellas, pero no me gusta nada. Pero sólo quería que supieras que necesitan una formación para la atención al cliente. - Oh, y no hay lociones proporcionadas en los baños.

Este hotel tiene todo. Es fácil de acceder de todas las direcciones, y especialmente un buen lugar para permanecer si va a un juego de hockey. El hotel tiene McDonald's en la calle, un buen salón en el sitio, y un vendedor de cerveza en el parque de estacionamiento!!!

El hotel es difícil de llegar con la construcción y el estacionamiento no es conveniente. La zona es un lugar de alto crimen y puede ser muy incómodo alrededor de la zona. El hotel está lleno de personas. Nos informaron que muchos estaban en el hotel porque fueron desplazados o salieron del país, lo que es totalmente bueno, y sólo un problema para el gran volumen de personas y familias que viven a largo plazo en el edificio y en la pequeña zona de recepción. La habitación era muy tranquila, pero no se podía encontrar en el hotel. Es una noche muy alta, convulsa, hectica para nosotros.

We spent two midweek nights here. This lovely downtown hotel was built in 1913, and has a beautiful early 20c lobby. If you stay in an historic hotel, you have to understand that some things will not be as good as staying at a modern hotel. For example, bedrooms and bathrooms will often be smaller, there may not be a pool, etc. But for us, being a part of history is enjoyable, and we've stayed in many hotels with an historic background. We found the Fort Garry to be a lovely place---the historic vibe is definitely there. The hotel's location is great---you can walk to the riverside Forks Historic District, with its famous market, museums, etc. And the hotel is only a block from the historic railroad station. Yes, our room was a bit small, but the bed was comfortable. We asked for a room with a good view, and got one on the 5th floor with a nice view of the railroad station and garden areas nearby. The staff here were exceedingly friendly, from the front desk staff to the restaurant servers. For example, our breakfast server from the previous day made a special effort to come over and talk to us the next day, even though she was not our server that day. Really good effort to make you feel comfortable! The hotel has a very nice fitness room, but no pool (you can pay for pool privileges at an adjacent building). The beautiful hotel restaurant (Oval Room) also reeks of history. We had breakfast there two times and dessert (not dinner) once. It's highly rated, and the food was very good. Parking here can be an issue. You can self-park on a fairly small one floor lot on the hotel's first floor, or down below in a basement garage. The first floor lot often fills up with patrons of the restaurant or business functions, but the basement lot was never full, and we used that one on both nights of our stay. Just note that the basement garage has no elevator. Overall, we had a delightful stay at the Fort Garry.

Comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. The meeting rooms were modern, large TV for viewing presentations rather than using a projector. The bed was comfortable, large rooms with shower and tub. The only thing is there are not many restaurants near by, just the one downstairs and the old spaghetti factory across the street.

Very clean, personable staff from Housekeeping to Maintenance to Booking/Courtesy Desk. I’m so impressed with this hotel that I recommend the staff get a raise or at least a nice perk of some kind. I have never stayed in a better hotel. I cannot rave about it enough. Everyone is so kind, helpful and smiling. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette but had food that needed the oven. Teresa even heated up our chicken! It’s too bad we live so far away as this would be the perfect place to stay on a regular basis. Kudos to all!
