Has so much potential. Our second visit, has slightly improved. The food is excellent, both evening and breakfast. Quality food, great breakfast menu and limited evening menu. Rooms ok, but bathrooms are dire and need updating. One teabag, coffee sachet and milk is not enough per night. No biscuits as advertised. No toiletries replenished for two nights, lucky I brought our own. Just tweaks & it will be so much better.

Unfortunately from the start my stay did not go well. Turned up at 19.30 and given room key, only to find my room had not been made up from the night before. This was resolved and i was also given a free drink from the Very good staff, who i can not fault. The room is very tired and best not to look too closely at the cleanliness of the room or bathroom. I stayed on a business trip and the wi fi connection was also poor, so really i could not do any work in the room. The hotel is very noisy and you can here a lot of conversations and door banging during the night. The breakfast was good made to order. The hotel just needs a little TLC to make the visitor experience much better.

The rooms were fine but do not go if you expect breakfast at the weekend. We were told it was served from 8 but by 8.20, despite two phone calls, no one had turned up. We had two double rooms and after contacting the hotel on the Monday were given £30 refund ie effectively £7.50 per head. Not really satisfactory. It clearly wasn't a one off as gentlemen turned up expecting breakfast and when they couldn't get in said "oh no not again"

I think we bummed out with our room. The bathroom was smelly and mouldy. Exhaust fan not working. The cleaners may have just pulled up the doona, the towels I put on the floor to be replaced with fresh towels were just folded up and put back on the bed. One was even places over the dusty heater to dry ! No toilet paper, had to ask for some. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned , or shampoo replaced. A few things had been moved around in our suitcase. Lucky I was able to find clean towels in the cupboards. Had to be careful sitting on the toilet seat as it moved lol Coffee machine had broken so only given instant coffee until our last day. They must have had a different chef as the breakfast was good on our last day. Check in was easy and staff very friendly. That was about the best part of the stay.

We moved to Winnersh back in November. Called in for Dinner on our moving day. Well impressed then with service and the food. Today went back for wife's birthday meal with a table of 11 of us. Service 1st Class and food absolutely out of this world. This pub had a previous poor reputation but the new management team have turned it around. Thanks to Nate and the team for a fantastic afternoon.

Stayed here years ago so new of it the room we had was drap and could have done with a paint job the carpet was dirty the bed i was in was broken and sqeeked every time I moved breakfast in the morning was help yourself but I had to ask another guest my daughter asked for toast and waited to see if anyone was going ask if we wanted a cooked breakfast but because my daughter asked for toast we were not asked she did ask if we wanted white or brown there was no one to give keys back too so handed to a lady Date of visit: June 2018 https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g1160733-d2368144-r590575014-The_Pheasant_Bar_Restaurant-Winnersh_Wokingham_Berkshire_England.html#

I turned up here half hr ago after driving from aylesbury, walked in the door of the bar to be met with a very strong smell of cannibis, my friend and I promptly left. I will never return to this inn and nor will my friend who is still feeling nauseous from the stench.

I have visited the pheasant a number of times through the years and it was quite a sad experience but it has really glammed up now, the new management seems to really know what they're doing, and when I spoke to them they said they'll be launching a new food menu soon so I'll be back soon to try that out!
